I'm not a sweat by any means, but I'd consider myself a decent pvp player, especially considering the only significant form of pvp I play is trials. But joining as a solo (because there's no other options) and matching against 3 stacks every game is laughable. Why am I and two other solos being forced to play against 3 stacks every round? I do not understand how Bungie hasnt added freelance as a permanent mode. They've made Trials more "accessible" and that's a start, but more needs to be done. Freelance needs to be a permanent option, every weekend. Matchmaking based on similar skill or KDA would just be icing on the cake, BUT I understand that would take away from the point of Trials. There's also a massive problem with skill creep which has resulted in Trials becoming even more toxic. Casual pvp players are leaving as they are realizing there are no alternatives, and new lights won't try it all. All in all something needs to be change. I've been flawless twice in the last few months, and both times were because I managed to link up with a team of two that were capable comp players. But I didn't find those groups through LFG, no I had to find them while playing as a solo against constant fireteams of 3 from pvp clans. LFG for Trials is toxic as hell, and not at all a viable option. Dont have a KD of 4? You're out. Lost the last 2 games you played as a solo? Haha there's the door. This is exactly why we had so many LFG'S where people would join and just jump off the map for their one bounty that weekend. At least with a consistent freelance game mode, solo players would be more inclined to participate. Players wouldnt have to go through the trouble of being ostracized on LFG just to find a team. Especially when the likelihood of running into 3 stack sweats from pvp clans would be eliminated. At least then, the likelihood you run into top tier players is the same likelihood they would be playing on your team. Additionally, doing this might also drive total Trials player numbers up. In which case the entire mode would become more accessible to everyone. All in all the game mode is still just completely inaccessible for solo players. Would love to hear other people's thoughts on this.
