This change doesn’t make sense whatsoever. Who asked for this? Who? I want to have a word with them. Who was like, “I want to wait even longer after I’m dead in the Crucible; I love being able to see someone tea-bag me for even longer!”
No one wants to wait longer after their death. It makes the snowballing issue downright unplayable because it’s far easier to be spawn trapped and to spawn trap the opposing team. Additionally, I almost never have games that go to 150 anymore. It’s either going to time (which is extremely boring), or results in a mercy in either direction (or a game that should have been a mercy).
Also, as a side note, the latency is this game has gotten FAR worse as well. I can’t tell you how many times I’m killed, or I get a kill, well after the fact. I can’t tell you how many times I get ghost bullets straight up or have the damage glitch (both receiving and dealing it). Latency has long been an issue for some time, but ever since the 30th anniversary update, it’s gone to hell.

It’s phucking aids!!!!

For trials I'm for it but for pubs it wasn't a smart idea

Clearly people’s opinions are going to be directly related to their crucible experience and capabilities. I get the spawn trapping thing… I don’t experience it much, and if I’m on a team and the match goes that way I just sit at B flag and wait it out, but I can see that perspective. That said, even though I don’t spawn camp, this ends up being annoying as hell because I’ll end up with someone on my team tbaggin my face for not participating. In this case, longer respawns drag the game out. However… Personally, because of the way lobby balancing is handled, those few seconds gives a window for me to capture a control point after taking their top fragger out of play for a while. I have more experience with the longer cooldown allowing for my team to get a foot in if we needed to than with spawn camping.

13 RepliesEdited by RussellMania: 12/24/2021 4:05:04 PMIt’s a great change. It slows down the game a tad bit, which is great. Idk why people are so upset and acting like it ruins the Crucible, I mean it’s barely noticeable. I literally didn’t even notice it was longer until I read the complaints. But once I did notice it, I realized how much it helps the flow of matches. And it’s still a very fast Respawn timer compared to other games… It’s only 7 secs…
-
It actually allows spawn trapping to an even greater degree. Bungie are fantastic at balance eh?
-
Actually, I'd love it if I didn't respawn until the match was just about over. You could get credit for being in a match that counts towards your three weekly needed for the pinnacle gear without all the wasted effort in between because almost all matches are trash now.
-
I don't mind it as much in 6v6, but in Rumble, it just feels awful.
-
3 RepliesIt’s ruined the flow of crucible. I wish they would go back to the D1 style of respawn. A few seconds out the game, then a few seconds where you could choose to respawn early, then finally they would force respawn you. It kept the flow of the game going but also gave you the opportunity to swap load outs if you wanted.
-
I may be in the minority but this is a solid change. You should be rewarded for killing someone. In this case, it's the delayed respawn timer, thus giving you, more time to press a numbers advantage and gain map control. Also, when you respawn, you get special ammo, so balances that out a bit as well.

1 Reply100% agree… 7 seconds… in 6v6 games it feels like a lifetime… I think Bungie has missed the point… As a pvp guy the very moment I die… I want to get back to action ASAP. So waiting the extra 2 seconds feels like I am being punished… for dying…
-
I feel like I get spawntrapped more frequently now and even with the extra two seconds it still says "searching for spawn location" (or whatever the exact message is) IMO they probably just did it to slow the game down even more. With the nerf to abilities and added spawn timer, they want the norm to be 1 super per match.
-
To allow for sufficient spawn trapping!

PvP has always been trash in Destiny. Its too increase overall suffering til everyone hates it so they can pull the staff for pve
-
Yeah it’s a trash change. Hopefully it stays as a minor test and not permanent.

Edited by A_mo: 12/25/2021 10:51:17 PMIts not that much longer. And if people think it is then that's a problem that's being fixed by them being longer. I don't know about anybody else but I haven't run into more matches with more spawn traps where the team that is winning wouldn't have won and snowballed and done other buzz words from the internet anyways. Also, the latency since the update hasn't been too bad for me. Definitely not as bad as it was at other points in the season which makes me think something might have been changed with matchmaking and it might just be player sorting. Or it could definitely be latency, who knows.

4K = more pixels to assemble
-
Bring back 2 sec respawns like we had during Forsaken.
-
I have experienced latency issues as well. I don’t agree with the timer being an issue. In a way, I believe that this will help casuals think about how to push a zone or defend a zone.
-
Stupid change. Instead of longer spawns to prevent roaming supers fix the spawn algorithm
-
Since Bungie rarely admits to making a terrible mistake right away, I'm guessing it will be the release of Witch Queen or even the following season after that when they break down and do something. They should have made respawn for everything to be like Momentum Control.
-
I wish they would revamp pvp. Give pvp it’s own skill tree for guardians. Add an arena mode (similar to halo but better) Bring back BTB, make it 12v12, bring back D1 big maps. Bring back SRL and have it on monthly rotation. Keep IB, and ToO the same.

19 RepliesAgreed it’s even exasperated by all the stompee hunters right now flying around to each spawn trapping everyone: Since the ability cooldown changes every lobby is 90% hunters with stompees and shotguns. We all knew mobility exotics would take over after the ability netfs, but had no idea it would be this bad. Stompees need to be looked at asap as they are the biggest problem in pvp and will single handily kill the mode since everyone will move over and crutch on the free win OP exotic. Edit: for every hunter on this thread defending their crutch listen to the latest podcast Firing Range. This is a podcast that the Bungie PvP sandbox team guests stars on and listens to themselves. I’m just reiterating what the no crutch hunter community wants. Listen to Coolguy starting at 1:17:23 and it goes in for 3 minutes: https://youtu.be/9Ohx7gCdpuo

This. For sure. Annoying. What individual or team thought that this was a good idea?

1 ReplyTo give the opponents time to get to your spawn so they can spawn kill you🤷♀️
