Hey, uhhh.. Bungie representatives who most definitely exist, and most probably will DEFINITELY see this post (yeah, right..) do you think it would be possible for the devs to do something about the parts of armor that don't accept shaders?
For example, you can't use dark shaders with any variation of ST0MP-EE5 because there are portions of it that are unchangeably white, and it looks terrible.
I just think it a bit silly at this point, with all of the customization that we do have, to be limited to a very narrow range of shaders because of some poor design choices with quite a lot of exotic and legendary armor pieces.
I see a lot of people in this thread talking about some parts of the armor staying a certain color so that the armor is immediately recognizable to other players, to which I reply: if that's the case, then shouldn't the white parts immediately turn black the moment you use an all white shader? Otherwise, they're just a wash of all white pants, and the so-called "immediate difference" is no longer noticeable. Nah, that take, even if it does come straight from Bungie, is a BS one.
Plus, not all exotics do this. Mask of Bakris, for example, has no noticeable portions that don't accept color. The "Charmed, I'm Sure" ornament for Liar's Handshake has no portion of it that does not accept color. Plenty of exotics accept shaders across all of their visible portions, so there's no excuse for the one's that don't.
So, please.. Please, I know that myself and countless other guardians would worship the ground your colorable ST0MP-EE5 walk on if you were to just do us this one kindness.
Thank you and sincerely,
Us.

nu shooz You make some valid points and I agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold. PS: I hope all of you have a safe and happy holidays.

Hey, uhhh.. Bungie representatives who most definitely exist, and most probably will DEFINITELY see this post (yeah, right..)
I see you. Team has been putting more effort in to this over the last few seasons. With some backend changes made in Beyond Light, it's become a bit easier while crafting new armor sets to have shaders apply to all pieces (unless there are specific decals or artistic choices). Can't make any promises about older gear, but newer ornaments / armor sets should all be taking shaders on the majority of surfaces.

It is a dumb idea really, and it applies to all of the armor sets/pieces that have the unique coloring. Look at the original guardian games sets. Despite armor looking good, I never use it due to the default color patterns, and I never e see anybody else use it either (tho that could be cuz it was so expensive. dunno). I would love it for all the weird Interne intrinsic armor colors to be changed. I can’t think of one instance where it makes the gear look better.

I wish they'd split up the armor more and allow for more shaders to be used for any given item

1 ReplyEdited by Smough: 12/22/2021 4:45:40 PMWhy am I not surprised that your post exists because you can’t make stompees black.
-
1 ReplyYeah whatever they did in the coding for shaders in D2 is awful. D1 had this issue too but not nearly as bad.
-
2 RepliesI think fully shaderable stuff would be neat but I always had this thought in my head that the unshaderable parts were so if a player looks at you they can immediately see "oh stompeez" or "oh you're wearing that exotic piece". Maybe thats why it is the way it is? maybe not idk.

3 RepliesThe price you pay for using the most meta Hunter exotic. Filthy meta

I hate purchasing a skin from Eververse, and then the 1 exotic piece you may have on just spoils the look entirely.
-
Or like the Iron Fellowship warlock robes, which have brass/gold colored accents that don’t change. It’s really annoying because I’d love to wear that armor but it just doesn’t change nicely ;(
-
3 RepliesI say even better is to let us use our transmogrified stuff on exotics I'd love to be able to use exotics but still keep my look
-
Yes, Verity’s Brow…
-
I wish they had a shading system like warframe, where items are broken down in to individual parts + shade with a colour palette.
-
Wish exotics would take legendary ornaments. so I can actually you a whole set.
-
1 ReplyYeah, especially the Eternal Warrior Ornament! It sucks to have green jade plates, no matter what shader on it.
-
Wish we could have a color wheel instead

4 RepliesFor Stomp-eez just find a new ornament. So happy to ditch the bulge.

18 RepliesUse an ornament

I had to find the "correct" tone of blue for various armors to run Oathkeeper for the same reason. It still isn't perfect, either.
