I want to encourage everyone to check out this video to shed some light on how greedy and ridiculous the Destiny 2 sales model is.
It's near impossible to recommend this game to any new player because of how much it costs to be able to play all content with a current player.
(Not to mention they have gutted tons of seasons, raids, items, and even the entire base game storyline entirely out of the game.)

Imagine a company makes something addicting and then monetizing the crap out of it. Bungie is smart for doing it bc they know they have everyone.

11 Replies40$ for yearly expansion 10$x3 for each season 25$x3 for each dungeon Yes if you buy it that way it's a rip off Or if you know your gonna 0lay all the content just buy the deluxe edition for 100$ and get literally everything for the next year. 100$ for a whole year of content isn't that bad, most games charge 100 for whatever deluxe edition they have that will last maybe 3 or 4 months Long story short if you know your gonna play everything it's good, but if you are a very casual player maybe wait till content comes out

Its pretty straight forward if you want it to be. Also, the link doesn't show anything. But if its the video that got posted on here a while back there's definitely some flaws in that argument.

1 ReplyAs long as eververse doesnt venture outside cosmetics, im fine with the “monetization”. D2 isnt f2p so content costs money.

It is getting out of control, I personally watched this video the day it came out and if I can remember correctly it was almost 300 dollars to 'catch up' with all the other players and it never fails to work on every new player that starts to like the game. But on the other hand bungie is a large company and these decisions are a difficult and important one to make that could have an affect on the future of said company, not matter what company it is, and although the player base might not like it they have to deal with it as best they can or the company won't grow and we all know that the people who complain about this game and say it's failing are the people who are going to come back and continue to spend money, but that don't change the fact that the monitazation is crazy right now. But all that set aside bungie is a great company and I'm exited to see how the company will improve and grow leading into witch queen, lightfall, and the final shape.

Zzzzzzz….

2 RepliesFortnite does the same thing. So does halo infinite. And 90% of the games that have yearly releases.
-
80$ for a full year of content is fine, not like other games that sell sandbox updates for full game prices

Edited by Guardian: 12/23/2021 8:51:26 PMGreed? You’re complaining about greed? The world relies on greed. It’s what makes this world work.

Yeah, I've not played for a while, I'll probably get Witch Queen but skip all the seasonal fluff......

If it is bad why is it working and people still buying? If it is still profitable for Bungie they don't going to care about prices, me too personally, I'm fine with it

Nah it's fine. Use your brain.

It's honestly not that bad

2 RepliesEdited by Ingwe-Queen: 12/22/2021 9:39:53 AMNearly all games have microtransactions some are pay to win and some like Destiny are cosmetics only. Cosmetics have no impact on the game whatsoever people but them or leave them. This is the way of the world now. I have said this many times Fortnite started this craze with little Jimmy "mommy buy me this skin as all my friends have it" so mommy just gives in and lets Jimmy have the skin. So parents and Fornite are to blame IMO. I haven't watched the video. I have no desire.

What's the title of the video? Link doesn't seem to work
