GMs are suposed to be hard not a handout

Title☝🏻 People need to stop woth the mentality of "i paid for this so i should be able to beat it", its the hardest content in the game and if you cant beat a GM without a cheese thats a you problem and you dont deserve adept loot, simple

  • Most people do it as a time thing. Running an ~30 minute GM for a 50% chance at the weapon you want and even then it’s not a good roll. Adept weapons have a decent number of perks and around 1/2 aren’t that good. Add on top of that that master nightfalls don’t even guarantee a weapon drop. It’s only around a 75% chance. The difficulty added is also largely centered around just increasing enemy health and damage. A cool way to change this would be to make strikes more mechanic based. Keep the overall damage and tankiness of a master difficulty but add additional requirements to do inside it. (Ex. Needing to stand in Taken blights to destroy specific enemy shields in Lake of Shadows).

        Some may enjoy playing destiny 2 like a cover shooter, peeking in and out of cover to slowly kill waves of enemies. Some may even enjoy having to use the same supers and loadouts every single time because nothing else is as effective. Some may enjoy doing multiple gm’s like this for mediocre roll after mediocre roll on the weapon they want. I’d imagine a lot of people don’t enjoy anything about gm’s, including myself. I’d happily cheese every GM if it means I don’t have to put up with the tedious gameplay and get the grind finished quicker. Not because it’s hard, but because it’s boring.

      • Nobody likes artificially difficult content. We just want the loot. If you want to handicap yourself for a challenge, be my guest. But don’t tell others how to play a video game

        • The real crux of the issue that nobody is really talking about is that the reason a lot of people want quick GM farms is the RNG - we all want an Adept thats [i]good[/i] right? Thanks to the dual layers of RNG (hope its the weapon you want AND THEN hope its got the perks you want) this encourages the path of least resistance i.e Lake of Shadows farm. Now, all that being said.... weaponcrafting will absolutely put an end to this, as (in theory) you'll be able to [i]make[/i] your desired roll. I dont really mind one way or the other but honestly I think Bungie should have waited til weaponcrafting was in the game before clamping down on cheese farming. Just my opinion of course.

          • I just want the difficulty from GM to GM to be more consistent. Its annoying that some weeks/strikes are a cakewalk and some seem to be a little over the top.

            • Hey, I agree with you. For me it's a time versus value argument. Quite simply, I will not do the highest difficulty content in this game. I have no interest spending countless hours doing something over and over and over again. I don't care about the loot in the game, I play the game for fun and couldn't care if Grand MasterXXL drops an extra shiny farnsarkle. I've already ran the thing multiple times on other difficulties, it's the same thing they just added a couple new enemies and I have no interest wasting my limited recreational time on something I've already completed over and over again. Unlike a lot of players I refuse to grind just to grind, that isn't fun to me, I only play the game for fun, once it isn't fun I'm not wasting my time chasing the shiny snapdragon.

            • Well to be fair, the only way to beat GM nightfall’s is to cheese them. People run cheesy builds in order to steamroll the whole thing, there is no skill involved in GM nightfalls, just run the proper build. Those that complain they cant beat them is because they aren’t running the seasonal mods

                • The only issue i have is that harder content is just enemies do more damage, there are other ways to make endgame harder

                    • Bungie seems to be the one with the problem right now. Since people don't want to engage the content in the way Bungie wants. If you put the sidewalks where the people walk, you dont' have to worry about them staying off the grass.
