Lost my Stasis class to a pay wall
Long time halo fan since CE, supported Bungie buying Destiny 1, got busy with life so couldn't get into 2 right away.
Finally got back on, was surprised to see it on Xbox Game Pass, but ended up buying season passes because I believe in supporting game Dev/updates even if a game is free to play.
Logged in today to find my stasis subclass is unavailable unless I purchase DLC for 34$....
Classy move Bungie. Way to betray fans for greed. Uninstalled and never coming back.

This one is more Microsoft. They would have to pay Bungie another couple mill to get the rights to keep Destiny on Game Pass. Microsoft just released Halo, so why would Microsoft pay Bungie to host one of Halo's competitors on their platform?

Let's be very clear for all the fanboys who rushed on here when they triggered themselves seeing a negative post about Bungie. Both Bungie and MS benefit from overly monetizing their products. Don't delude yourself into thinking Bungie is some altruistic independent game Dev that actually cares about being fair to you. I'm guessing most of you weren't around when they got dinged for intentionally removing Destiny 1 content before release, to help maximize DLC potential. Or how awfully Marty O'Donnell and other OG Bungie staff were removed from the process when they tried to fight back. Or heck, I dunno, maybe the ongoing internal investigation into Bungie regarding the toxic work environment etc etc. No no no yeah it's cool, they're totally not part of the problem with what I originally complained about 🙄

1 ReplyThat was Microsoft doing, not bungie. Holiday/end of year sales should be popping up on digital store fronts so you might get lucky and get BL for a good bargain should you reconsider playing the game again.

I mean forums were toxic some of the time back in the Halo, but wow guys. Honestly what do you guys do all day? Just circle the forums all day looking for a post to trigger yourselves into mocking & belittling online strangers? Enjoy that dopamine rush if that's what does it for you I guess. And I already said I've paid literally for every Bungie game up to Destiny (even repurchasing Halo MCC to have the anniversary games) but could NOT pay for Destiny 2 because it was already on game pass. So I sunk money into season passes instead to help support the updates and content. The issue isn't that I don't understand game pass, or capitalism, or whatever other tangents you sweat lords are trying to extrapolate off my post. I literally played a game and customized a class for a long long time, only to have it rendered inaccessible behind a newly erected paywall. If you guys let your blood cool for JUST a second and let the red tinge drain from your eyes (because God forbid someone criticizes Bungie) you could maybe understand why I feel betrayed. But by all means keep the toxicity going, it seems to be what forums are for.

3 RepliesYou subscribe to a service that allows access. Every single game on gamepass allows you to have the memory of what you played in said games, but if they leave.. you have to pay to access it. EVERY SINGLE GAME. Now, you had access to content that others paid for. It was a stand alone addition to an existing live service game. Said contract expired. You lost access to its core content. Want it back? Microsoft offers a 10% discount to purchase it. Just like every other game that leaves gamepass. Have issues with, either talk to Microsoft or understand what gamepass actually is.

I'm sure Bungie would be happy to keep getting that guaranteed paycheck from gamepass. Game pass games come and go, it's like Netflix. Unless it's a Microsoft product, I wouldn't expect games to stick around on game pass. Good try though....

God forbid you have to [i]pay[/i] to have access to content, how horrible for Bungie to do that. Just fyi, it was Microsofts decision to remove it from gamepass supposedly. If it bothers you that much then just pay for it like everyone else.

Stasis was always behind a paywall. MS was covering the bill for a while, but now you need to pony up and buy the Beyond Light expansion if you want to keep using it. Maybe it was Bungie that decided to pull expansions off of Game Pass. Maybe it was MS that didn’t want a competing Live Service Game when their own Live Service Halo title released. Content doesn’t go I or stay on Game Pass unless both parties agree.
