Awoken Customization Ideas

I remember Bungo saying they wanted to add new customization options into the game, so as someone who plays an Awoken, here are some ideas I think would be cool! Feel free to leave your own in the comments! :) DISCLAIMER: I’m 100% aware that most of this will probably never happen, but it never hurts to put the things ya like out there just in case it gets picked up right? I want to start this off by saying I’d love the option to hide helmets in PVE. It’s in so many other games and I’d love to have it as an option here. I don’t think it should be allowed in PVP as I understand some might see that as an unfair advantage to those using exotic helmets, and not having them showing. Hair: I’d like to see longer hairstyles, and given the elven and more ghostly inspiration that Bungie used when making the Awoken, I think long styles, braided styles, and DEFINITELY more symmetrical styles would greatly benefit the Awoken appearance. I have personally always disliked the whole asymmetric eccentric artist approach they took with a lot of the hair. And given that the Awoken are all about symmetry and balanced you’d think their style would reflect that. I feel like there’s already a giant variety of hair colors so I don’t think new ones would be necessary. Brows: Let the colors be separate from the hair color please. Eyes: I’d love to see eyes without pupils, same as Orin, the Emissary of The Nine. Also maybe Black surrounding the iris like Uldren had when he was being Corrupted. Given that we are tapping more into the Darkness, I think this’d be kinda cool. More eye colors, and maybe even access to ways to layer eye colors. Like imagine having those dark violet eyes with a bit of that aurora blue-green added in there. I’d be so happy. Face: I think having actual makeup options would be so great. Rather than just random facial markings for the eye area. Even just one or two eye shadows would be so awesome. I mean even the male Awoken have eyeshadow, why not the females? I also definitely think we need much more variety in skin and lip colors. Almost all of them end up looking straight up gray in the actual game. Having a wider variety of both paler and darker blues and violets would be awesome, maybe even pale whites to bring a bit of that vamp aesthetic in. It would also be great if the colors would actually match the palettes from which they are applied. Maybe: I think some kind of hair adornments would be a cool addition. Maybe even if they were jus tried to certain hairstyles and then allowed to be colored in whatever way you like. Maybe even piercings for those who like that stuff. Ultimately I’m just tryna live out my Drow/Moon Elf in space fantasies with maybe a bit of ghostly vampire mixed in there ya know? I wouldn’t hate pointed ears either but that’s prob overreaching lol. P.S. Please add a barber style way to edit your character. It doesn’t have to affect race since that’s tied to dialogue and stuff, but a way to change faces, skin colors, hair and eye colors, etc. would be so appreciated by so many people. :)

  • I thought you were talking stat wise, so it got me thinking. They could have intrinsic stats that go with each race, like in Skyrim. For example: Awoken: +1 Recovery Exo: +1 Resilience Human: +1 Mobility They could include a race specific quest that goes more into the lore of each one to unlock the bonus. Awoken can get a quest where they first awake in space and have to stow away on ships or hitchhike to find their way to Earth. Exos could revive in a junkyard and have to track down all their lost body parts. Humans could start off living in a colony that is starving and always on the run from the Fallen, trying to make their way to the Last City. I just think each choice should have actual meaning, instead of just being a different face with an occasional dialogue mention.

    • I would love to have more character customization in the game, both in the character creation and later in the game.
