POV: you've been invited to bungie studios for 1 week and been assigned a team to make a brand new PVP map which planet would you put it on, would it be a close or mid or long range map, would it be in a building??? Me personally don't play PVP so I don't know but I like open maps and I liked Venus so I would probably theme it outside with a vex portal leading to a another dimension that looks like the vex network. But what would you do???👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌

Debris A large scale map amidst the derelict ships of the Reef. Fight on the top of three stationary freighters and make your way around the map leaping from floating debris but be careful; these broken ship parts move and are affected by your players actions.

1 ReplyEdited by Ima_Bearded_Ewok: 12/2/2021 9:42:21 AMI have a few ideas. But I'm hesitant to help them. They're taking ideas they don't deserve, maybe copy it or something similar to it, make it their own and yet we don't even get credit for it. They'll probably use it on their new PvP IP instead of this game. Lmao! Anyways, I'll give a couple ideas here. They are probably not able to make it. Lol. Here goes. First PvP map is located in the Reef. It's the area in D1 where the Vestian Outpost is located. It's a glimpse of the Void. So it's a dark place. It's a dynamic map, it's close to the void, so objects are moving in space. Nothing is permanently planted. Only a few large objects, but everything is free floating and moving randomly. It's a platforming PvP. You can't hide on one spot because it moves and when object goes out of bounds, it'll push your guardian off into space and you die via the architect. If in Control, the flags will be moving so you have to do platforming to get there. Flags are located on bigger debris with some cover. It's all dynamic, and random, so everytime this map shows up, nothing is the same. A true challenge in tactics and mastery of the game. My second PvP map is on the Dreaming City. It will be a mixed map with taken blights randomly appearing on different places. This is good with Control. The blights are a teleporter, like in the last wish raid by the bridge before the Morgeth fight. The B flag zone is inside the Blight taken realm, the A and C flag zone are outside. When you go into the Blight taken realm, it will look like the bridge with broken peices everywhere. Some are moving, so it is a dynamic map inside the taken realm, you need to do platforming to get to B, at the same time fighting opponents in a dynamic environment. There could also be moving debris like huge walls just like in the Dreaming City strike The Corrupted. To spice it up, when you capture the B flag zone inside the taken realm, it may trigger an orb blight to pop up and shoot at you while you're capturing. You get 2 opponents now, a PvP guardian if they're there, and the orb blight, both can be eliminated by any means. Blight portals appear randomly at different places to allow access to B all the time. Then add a certain degree of difficulty, when you're outside the Taken realm, your abilities will default automatically to Light based powers such as Blade Barrage, etc., and when you go into the Blight and teleport into the taken realm to go capture B, your abilities will switch automatically to Darkness based powers such as stasis, etc. An extra layer of subclass awareness based on where you are located. Your super bar is not affected and will be gone once used, regen again just like a regular match. My third PvP map is at the EAZ. Those floating rocks are again dynamically moving to get to a certain stable spot. Some float higher than others, so you can traverse tree roots and plant based vines for climbing up, like the Avatar movie. It will give the map a sense of verticality. Again, it's a dynamic map, so the rocks are again moving randomly all over the place. You could create holes in between rocks to create cave like passages as well, or broken underground pipes in between rocks that could be accessed to traverse between floating rocks. But the idea is to always move because floating rocks are randomly moving within the map, sometimes goes out of the map for complete randomness. Short buildings could be a part of it, again to add another layer of verticality. Because all three maps I suggested are all dynamic maps, guess what happens next?... Heavy ammo crates will appear randomly and on a different place everytime! Booyaaah!!! That's my suggestion. I doubt they'll be able to make that in this game. But if they do it on this game or their other games, I want to get paid for it. Nah, on second thought, that's a gift. A creative gift. Hope that stimulates your creative minds, if you still have it. You're welcome!

5 RepliesImagine Crossroads from D1 but expanded. One launcher (the other visably destroyed) that sends u sailing to an island. But also underneath said area of the launchers u have a phasing bridge that takes u to a larger version of that island. Vex constructed platforms that make their way to a platform reminiscent to undying mind bosses area with all the fixings other than out of bound cheeses. On the other end (start) of the launchers we have the teleporters we all know and love but the cave section has been taken over more so by vex construct. But the small pond area has been expanded out into a full on "forest" of vex construct pillars. I say forest but think of it as congested as a Christmas tree dealer ship that's had moderate business made. Some*(few) of these pillars will have platforms in the middle or at the top for verticality play. But will not have any cover included to allow a balance of advantage and disadvantage using these lanes. In these "forest" there is a two way portal linked to the farthest familiar portal. The closest portal to the forest is linked to inside the cave area. There is one other portal u drop into that used to be the platform in the middle of the trees next to the farther portal from the forest. It drops into the undying mind platform area. There could be alot more spicy details to say but that's all I'm feeling rn

I'd make a spiritual successor to Guardian from Halo 3. Peak asymmetrical map design that remains balanced.

Tbh, it was one of my problems with BL. There could be a map in riis reborn, in the cration, in a ketch, and (after the worlds first) on in the deep stone crypt! It was a really big muss on their part.
-
Something in deep stone crypt. the white walls and tech seem so cool. maybe something like that old d1 map on a ketch with the servitor on it? one open room and multiple corridors and side rooms.

Edited by shwabbywabby: 12/2/2021 7:33:21 AMBasically my map would be very similar to Widows Court, open, green and some long sight lines. But when everyone was on their dinner break I would load up Pantheon and delete those side tunnels they added for D2. I would also delete Twilight Crap and Anomaly when no one was looking. So yer I probably wouldn’t get invited back 😔
