Disclosure - I'm a Warlock main, but put in a good bit of time on my Hunter too. Rarely touch my Titan but I try to keep him leveled.
I love when a TWAB has a lotta detail, but this one doesn't look like its gonna A. be well received, or B. fit smoothly into the game. The biggest takeaways/issues I had:
-As a mainly PvE player, I'm content with a lot of what was said. Seems like in general PvE abilities are either getting slightly buffed or not affected
-That said, I'm not happy about almost all the Warlock supers being Tier 1/2 for cooldowns. Like, Arcstrider being a faster cooldown than Nova Warp just doesn't seem like it makes sense. I don't quite understand it, but we have to wait and see what happens
-Silence & Squall remaining un-nerfed, and sitting at Tier 4 cooldown doesn't make sense either given how much its used, and putting it above something like Chaos Reach seems odd after the nerf to Geomag Stabilizers
-Removing the one-hit-kill abilities from Titans and Warlocks, while adding a OHK grenade to Hunters is again, odd. Now, they nerfed shatterdive which is adding balance, but that still leaves two OGK abilities for Hunters while the others have none (although I'd guess a Titan w/Peregrine could still OHK).
In general, I can't say I'm mad about these notes -- it seems like every class lost more than it gained, but it comes of as though Titans and Warlocks lost a good bit more than Hunters. I could be very wrong so we have to see how this is implemented. It definitely isn't helping the "Bungie Loves Hunters" and "Nerf Warlocks" memes though xD

2 RepliesEdited by Branthro: 11/19/2021 9:52:03 AMThe Flux and Firebolt grenades were only two examples. They're not *only* giving Hunters a OHK nade, they simply gave us two examples of how they're changing nades as a whole. There's no way these two are the only nades being touched. Magnetic nades and Fusion nades - as sticky nades - will likely be buffed to be OHKs as well. Also, any apparent over/under nerfs to Void subclasses may be nullified with Witch Queen as Void subclasses get their overhaul to the Stasis system

1 ReplyAll stickies are gonna one shot, it would be the most stupidest thing if bungie only gave hunters the one shot while leaving the other stickies as bad as they currently are.

2 RepliesThe whole TWAB reeks of a hunter mains doing

5 RepliesBefore I start, hunter main here I get the shoulder charge nerf since it doesn't really have a cooldown timer, but I do think it's a rather unnecessary nerf. In a game where shotguns especially are so dominant and getting up close to someone is usually a death sentence, I dont really ger why they're nerfing it, though peregrine grieves will still allow the one shot. As a golden gun pvp main, I do feel like it's fair to leave the knife a one shot. It's the only one shot ability in the game that requires a but of brain power to execute, and if you miss the headshot, then you're already dead. You actually have to be pretty good with the knives to consistently kill with it. Now for the Flux nade buff, I feel like it balances itself since you only get 1 nade every 3 minutes, if you don't spec HARD into discipline, you pretty much get 2, MAYBE 3 nades a game. Plus it won't track anymore. We really gotta wait to see how it pans out first. But also, THANK GOD GLACIAL NADE PVP NERF! BEGONE SHATTERDIVE! Now my real concern is pve. As stated I am a hunter main, but I'm well rounded in that part of the game and play all 3, leaning more towards warlock in endgame. The nerfs to dodge in particular is going to put hunters in an even worse spot in pve. It feels like bungie is just trying to run hunters out of pve all together given that they've given all of the best things about them to warlock and titan, and now are making yet another one of the only things going for them worse (which is only coming because of pvp mind you). Also, the warlock and titan super thing. I always run shadebinder or rally banner in gms. Those nerfs are going to hurt bad with those supers. Really bad. Not to mention the bleakwatcher nerf too. It just feels like all of these nerfs and complete overhaul of the game is coming because of pvp, it's its all going to do some serious damage to pve. It's not good, and I'm extremely concerned.

9 RepliesWhen you try to figure out what the game will be like based on the literal explanations by Bungie (about sandbox changes) most times it’s not as bad as interpreted. Not sure about this one though. I read the TWaB a couple times to get my head around what was coming. Assuming my comprehension isn’t totally whacked: 1-PVE you’ll do pretty much the same damage and feel just as powerful as you do now. 2-PVP will see the return of team shooting, similar to the 4 v 4 we experienced during D2s launch. 3-Space magic and power fantasy will be noticeably changed in PVP (being considerably weaker) while PVE should still allow you to feel like a badass. Biggest concern I have is that the enemies in PVE all get buffed, bosses become even bigger bullet sponges to prolong the gameplay. We shall see.

1 ReplyThis TWAB was the long awaited sequel to the Go Fast Update: The Go Slow Update
-
As a hunter main that uses primarily stasis for the stat benefits (only way currently I got my 3x 100 build again) them having S&S with a fast cool down.. doesn't really change much since the super is -blam!-... and is by far the easiest roaming super to avoid/evade... like I you're not hit directly by it.. you can get away.. and if you're away from it pushing in.. it's easy to tell where not to stand as hts a giant pink beacon floating around the map lmao... imo as a hunter main I'm surprised how people take such a bug issue with S&S but are cool with arkstrider lol the super that let's you block all damage and reflect it back haha

2 RepliesThe super regen isn’t being touched in PvE right?

Seems like in general PvE abilities are either getting slightly buffed or not affected
You either didn't actually read the TWAB or you did not comprehend it. Virtually everything in there with few exceptions were nerfs. THREE minute cooldown for a GRENDADE? NERFS everywhere for Titans. Their abilities nerfed, supers nerfed, even the -blam!- barricade got nerfed. Plain and simply, the sandbox team has absolutely no f*cking idea what they are doing. This game gets worse with every single update they put out. I am not sure why I even play anymore
-
I’m glad I rarely play pvp.

2 RepliesConsidering that there was very little in the TWAB to address the Hunter's lack of PVE viability in relation to the Warlock and Titan I would still say Hunters are losing out in this patch because they aren't getting the PVE TLC they desperately need to be more viable beyond invisibility and applying stasis for focusing lens users.

It definitely isn't helping the "Bungie Loves Hunters" and "Nerf Warlocks" memes though xD
The year is 2024, there are still a whopping 2k crucible players in d2. Population in trials is at an all time high. Halo 8 just dropped so what we are gonna do is give hunters a buff. The dodge coolsown with tier ten mobility is now 5 mins. You can dodge 3 times a game! Special weapons grant one ammo at spawn and respawn. Upon dying there will be no special ammo pickup. Supers were destrpying the ultra mlg competitiveness, so we tuned them to the point that everyone gets one super at the exact same time during the last 10 seconds of the game, that way everyone knows when the other iron wolves will unleash their super. We have nerfed the ttk of all primaries to 4 seconds with all head shots. Warlocks rifts have been removed entirely. No exotics can be used in pvp from here on out those hunters are WAY too fast with stompees! There is now a shotgun only mode to quench ur thirst for fast paced ape combat! I dont even amd cant even troll these bungie ppl enough nor do i even have the energy to come up w a creative sattire post. Apologize for even attempting. Rip this game.

1 Reply"Titans and Warlocks lost a good bit more than Hunters" Well when you don't have much left to be taken away...
-
The super tier list of regen just means at what point in a trials or survival match you’re gonna have it available. They said that you’ll only get your super once in competitive and twice in casual. The higher the tier the more it just pushes a super to being a bit later in the game. It’s why the more powerful roaming ones like nova warp that has longer cool down than the less effective supers for such a task. And considering how long a trials match is I don’t think that their list is going to mean massive separation between the supers. It’s not like you’re gonna get 4 well of radiance a game and only one spectral blades a match.

6 RepliesEdited by ZyloWolfBane: 11/18/2021 11:04:41 PMSilence and Squall is a dumpster ability compared to ANY roaming super, it's not even really useful to crowd control capture zones unless everyone is dumb enough to cluster in one spot when they hear it coming, and revenant plays the class for shatterdive, guarantee nobody plays it after the update. So nah, I don't wanna hear this from warlocks. Shatterdive got is due nerf and titan shoulder charge did too. Warlocks IMO still come out ahead more often than not AND you get the shortest cooldown on well of radiance compared to all other supers in the game with the upcoming changes. Take a seat.

6 RepliesThey're definitely going to roll back some of what they're doing either through exotics or actual changes to abilities, especially after the subclass reworks. I don't really play titans and warlocks, but doesn't one or the other have flux grenades? Either way, shatterdive isn't going to OHK regular players unless they are frozen close the to center of the crystals with the aspect and fragment. Though they didn't say anything about shatter damage and I wonder if that was factored into the SD nerf. The only other OHK ability hunters have requires a head shot or Athrys. The only other options are Ahamkara tripmines and (can't remember the name) the beetle arm with mid tree void melee. Titans (until the nerf) can still do insane damage with Dunemarchers, Synthoceps can enable team wipes (don't know how many are needed in what range), Ashen Wake and Worm God can enable OHK nades and hammers with middle tree if harder to use efficiently. They might also buff Doomfang since I'm pretty sure Sentinel is getting a ranged melee with the void rework. Then there's Peregrine to buff shoulder charge. If there was a change to Arc Web and Warlock arc grenades, I probably read over them. Not a OHK, but can decimate people if they can't separate for whatever reason. Depending on how strong the knock back is on HHSN, it might finish people with collision damage. I didn't see anything about Nothing Manacles and Scatter Grenade. Definitely hit less, but like the others, still hit hard. They're nerfing damn near everything in an attempt to increase weapon usage. This can only end so well.

6 RepliesEdited by salmon41: 11/19/2021 2:50:04 AMNone of this would be happening if the crucibabies didn’t constantly complain! So bungie were listening and the crucibabies got what they deserve!! RIP pvp !

1 ReplyStasis no longer able to freeze is so dumb. Better rename it to Slowsis and no I’m not shatterdive main. I just liked the challenge stasis ppl represented.
-
No mention of dedicated servers? Ok then this game is still trash.
-
Too bad bungie is run by idiots that don't play the game
-
You probably want the hunter to throw their silence and squall before you get your super lol. Just sayin
-
Surely there is only loads of s&s supers in pvp because of the amount of stasis hunters because of shatterdive, so with shatterdive being useless the stasis hunters will most likely switch to the next best thing and thus a lot less s&s supers in pvp. Bit of logic behind the thinking there for ya.
-
15 RepliesAgreed. They might get away with the longer cooldow/hits harder shift in pve. But warlocks are getting the shaft again in pvp. Just reaffirms my sense that they are lost where pvp is concerned. However I’m happy to see that pve is being affected less and less by the stumbling.

5 RepliesAs a top tree shadowshot hunter main, this twab is making me want to switch to warlock. I barely ever play anything besides top tree shadowshot.

6 RepliesThis will set up all characters back to D2 Vanilla destiny… when you would play an entire match and not get your super… then Destiny died and it took the forsaken DLC for them to buff the abilities.. I’ve always said.,: if players just want gun play and no space magic they should make a only gun play mode…
-
4 RepliesYou can't deny that Bungie loves Hunters, "We took away one of your OHK abilities, but don't worry ,you will have the only OHK grenades of any class "
