Clan Recruitment

Look for Clans or seek new members.

Not a recruitment post but an honest question.

I've been recruiting people for my clan for a while now and, something I've noticed is that a lot of my posts are always downvoted and by a lot of people actually, sometimes the amount of people that upvote is inferior to the amount that downvote, and trust me, numbers of downvotes surpass 20-30 of them. Now the simple question is why? I may see the obvious answer just being the fact these people want visibility and by interfering with other clans number of upvotes this will help. But still why do this? I don't see a point in it since people will just post again, and this trend will just make more and more people do the same which in return will hurt them as well. Any opinions or insights are appreciated about this topic.

  • As a fellow clan founder, I can honestly say that nobody has ever downvoted my recruitment posts...maybe it has something to do with your content...do you have a link for a recent post? Just for reference, I founded my clan in 2014, so it's not like I'm new at this...

  • They’re trying to make themselves trend longer. Sadly the algorithm takes into account downvoting, so it’s in their best interest to down vote. If these clan actually had members, they wouldn’t need the down votes, as the votes from their community would carry them the distance. I have learnt that comment hold more weight than any vote could. And would advise that you try and get people who are interested, to comment as well as upvote.

            • It‘s really simple. Just pure insecurity and beta human behaviour. These are the same people that will shitpost you for months if you decide to leave their clan for no matter the reason. Just keep posting. People that value the core of your clan and are willing to join and stay will definetly hit you up. Better having just 10 invites and 9 of them actually stay on long term rather than inviting 70 of them and just 1 of them doesnt leave at the same day.

                • Sorry that's happening to you. Hopefully people will be able to stay in their own lane and understand we're all trying to do the same thing here.

                  • People here get salty about literally everything. Just make sure you posts are being made in the right category and don't stress it.

And so do the players looking for a clan. I view a try out as something for everyone. We try them out. They try us. Some stay. Some go. Birds of a feather flock together, so I wouldn't put too much worry into it. Hunt these topics. You'll find them. And in game is another place too. No one can down vote your invite in game. But I say fight fire with water. We should make a referral topic. A place we can go....hey I have this person, but they might fit better with you guys. And oh......I'll make 1000 new posts if I have to. I don't care.

                      • This has gotten a bit of attention and I thank you all that commented and shared your opinions, I even got some new theories people shared with me and at this point I don't think they are too crazy: 1) Basically bots auto downvoting the recruitments posts, and to be honest this seems something that could very easily be done, but I'm not sure of how it works nor do I care to be fair, such thing shouldn't occur since yes competition for recruitment will occur but at least be in fair play 2) The downvoting might even help the posts stay in the front page, with the numbers rising and lowering it makes the post active, but it stays in the front page for a less amount of time the less upvotes it has Again I highly encourage anyone to share their opinion or point of view on the topic

Tactical voting is the term, its pointless and childish .. Happens to the clan posts I make too, you are not alone .. Btw, I upvoted your post ..
