All I Got to say is Please make this New Weapon Crafting System Worth it in Witch Queen

I'm not saying we should have complete freedom to craft laser beam weapons with 0.1 TTK. I just want to be able to pick any weapon archetype and make some decent weapons. Obviously I have no idea how this system will work out, but please make it fun and balanced!

  • The cynic in me is calling it now…. Limited “upgrades” which require multiple levels of rng to obtain….99% endlessly running very old stale content. Limited combinations of those rng selections for every weapon type… lacklustre perks “cost” less to slot so no over powered weapons, just like compromising on your armour mods because you can’t afford what you really need. Costly overly convoluted currencies to obtain, which again are a very limited amount per week/season… can’t have players enjoying themselves too much. In conclusion a watered down hot mess of disappointment unlike the season of Opulence version of “crafting”

  • I agree. I'm concerned they are going to infuse too much RNG in crafting. They already do that now with the seasonal engrams and the focusing. The potential for crafting could be great but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

  • If we're going to be able to create/alter weapons and 'make them better' then my first port of call would be my DMT. When firing, rather than ejecting spent cartridges I woul enable it to eject double dipped beef sandwiches and a side order of dill pickle. I mean, it's hungry work being a Guardian. Imagine this, approaching the crucial stage of the Proving Grounds GM, Hooter goes off 'Lunch'!! is the cry, we all sit down to a nice din dins.....lovely.

      • Crafting, it will be another tortuous journey to amass some form of crystal, shard, dust whatever, followed by another tortuous journey to amass an up market crystal, shard, dust etc etc ....cue transmog in weapon form. Knowing the Bungie way it will probably include a pay as you go route via Eververse....

        • Bungie said something about the more you use a particular weapon the more perks you will unlock to craft that weapon with,For example just say you get a new auto rifle that dropped in Witch queen and you want it to have dragonfly and subsistence on it, you have to keep using that gun until you unlock those perks then go to the weapon crafting station and craft a new version of that same gun with those perks on it.I think it is just the perks we will craft weapons with not the stats(rounds per minute,impact,range and so on).

            • Think Minimum Viable Product (MVP). They are most likely just getting the bare bones out there to start laying the foundation, so don't hold your breath for something cool out of the gate. Same happened with the Mods system. It wasn't that great when it 1st rolled out, but it seems to be in a much better spot now. That said, I would love to be proven wrong.

              • I think it will less that what you think. Not you crafting your own 600rpm Auto Rifle with stat allocations and perks of your choice. It’s more than likely gonna be like just picking a weapon from collections, choosing perks from the weapon’s existing perk pools, and then grinding for hours for the weapon to be “finished” and in the same condition it would be if you got it as an RNG drop. It’s probably gonna also have a bunch of new materials to farm for and use too, like how you needed a bunch of stuff to put to target a weapon and roll with Menagerie. So if you want kill clip, you gonna have to get the materials that allow you to “make” kill clip.

                • I would be excited for weapon crafting but then remember this is Bungie so I am dubious as to how they will implement it. I expect disappointment so can only be pleasantly surprised.

                • Complete a bunch of bounties, which when completed awards you with a new material, which then after accumulating a certain amount of will allow you to convert said material into a new currency. Once you have enough of this new currency, you are then allowed to buy more bounties which will then give you another material that can be used to convert earlier material into another material. Then you can complete more bounties to allow you to use the materials and currency to forge a new material. Once you have enough of the new material, you are allowed to forge one weapon piece, but only one piece each week.

                  • Guaranteed it's going to be craft weapons that are in loot pools, not create your own one of a kind weapon. This means if you play long enough the ones that you have made will drop in activities. It will be a faster way to aquire the roll you want. It Won't be random Stat weapons.

                      • I'm gonna guess that it won't be. Just based on Bungie's history with Destiny 2, I stand rather confidently that it will be a terrible system with insane limitations surrounded almost entirely by more chore lists...err, I mean "bounties." Do I hope I'm right? Of course not. It'd be awesome if there really was proper freedom with creations and not all about doing 150 Nightfall strikes and getting 200 Arc Kill final blows in Crucible. Do I think it will be exactly what I hope it isn't, though? Absolutely.

                      • I would really like to hear a detailed overview from Bungie about weapon crafting. Especially, will ALL weapons be "craftable" eventually? Assuming you have something in your inventory right now, will it be able to be recrafted at some future date? I really hope this isn't some novelty system that only applies to a couple of new, focused weapons each season. Ideally, I'd like to see every weapon in the game have earnable rolls instead of RNG lottery, and be able to switch between unlocked perks so there would never be a need to keep more than 1 of anything.

                        • I hope it’s a true weapon craft so you can make your weapons balanced or not… I want an auto rifle that fires at 720 with explosive payload and dragonfly at the same time just for a absurdity of it and the fun factor … I have a bow with that and it’s fun in crucible/gambit … not a “meaningful” choice weapon crafting since meaningful choice in destiny means no fun

                            I'm expecting it to be a slow monotonous grind and some stupid material will be super rare. But you can buy in eververse....😂

                            • I imagine it's like how transmog works. And how the menagerie weapons worked. Socket mods into a kiosk for a weapon and possibly change its look based on a weapon u have already available in the collection.
