If Lumina fell into the wrong hands

The weapon born from darkness and made anew in light, Lumina. What if it somehow made its way back into that whence it came? It will never happen of course but if it did, given how much light, lore wise, is infused deep into the weapon? I shudder to think of that being a remote possibility.

  • No worries. Bungie would nerf it for sure

It’s possible. Considering Thorn was too strong for even us to use but we still managed to cleanse it, there is nothing stopping someone else from corrupting it. Also, we cleansed it in steps. So the re corrupting of Thorn could be done similarly. By a ‘weak’ person in small doses. Nothing is permanent should be the take away. What’s good can go bad and good again but obviously is always at risk of going bad again. Morality is a constant struggle.

  • Lumina is THE weapon of hope, like how Thorn, which it was made from, was THE weapon of sorrow. Given that we made Lumina from Thorn, I think it's theoretically possible to make it into a weapon of sorrow again, but I don't think it'll truly be Thorn ever again. Besides, it's a weapon made by one of, if not the most powerful guardians ever. The odds of someone successfully changing it back are impossibly slim at best. I don't think we gotta worry. It would make for a cool questline though.

    • I think lumina is more symbolic than anything. It’s just a vessel for light without a significant past. Something with enough power to corrupt lumina again would be capable of making something dangerous with or without it.
