HI all, having used Thunderlord since D1, I'm speculating a potential catalyst for it : The Fundamentals. We had an identical version for both Solar and Void in D1 didn't we? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that's something to aim for in the future, what a hoot we're in for!
EDIT : It's about 18 hours since I posted this thread, and a BIG SHOUT OUT to all who have commented! Thank you for the imagination & humour! It's been awesome not having negativity! Oh and I still reckon Led Zeppelin trumps ACDC for background music 😜😂😜👍👍 Thank you Guardians !!!

2 RepliesTriple Threat: This weapon now has the ability to swap between Arc, Void, and Solar. Solar: Landing hits with this weapon causes the target to burn over time and increases weapon damage by %15 (as long as the target is burning). Kills cause solar aoe explosions that burn nearby enemies. Void: Landing hits with this weapon causes miniature void explosions that damage and supress enemy combatants. Kills cause a massive void aoe explosion that suppresses nearby enemies. Arc: Remains the same. Wrath of Olympus: Lightning strikes (and solar and void effects) happen more frequently. (Magazine size extended to 76)

1 ReplyCatalyst must include "multi-kills award lightning fast reload" ... feeding frenzy is meh imo

3 RepliesEdited by Fendaxis: 11/14/2021 6:28:59 PMIt’s so weird; I’ve been seeing people use this gun in strikes a lot this week. Why the sudden surge? Edit: forgot about arc singe, which is this week of course. Thanks yall

1 Reply🤔 why isn’t there one? Wth bungie!

Spinning Up to double up on the rapidly increasing fire rate would be pretty fun. Would progressively speed up AND keep the 3 phase speed up.

4 RepliesEdited by ShadowWing48: 11/13/2021 2:49:23 AMCatalyst: Zeus' Wrath -Consecutive hits now spawn lightning bolts on every 5th instead of 10th hit. Every lightning bolt causes a stunning bolt at the point of impact, blinding and weakening enemies in the immediate vicinity. Blind lasts for 2 seconds since you can crank out so many lightning bolts Weakening effect is only for Thunderlord, doesn't stack with other Thunderlords, and is 20%. Lasts for 4 seconds. This would make Thunderlord a powerful DPS machine again and actually worth using in endgame content like GMs without breaking it while keeping it true to original form. I'd definitely make this catalyst one that would have a chance to drop from any raid or legend ordeal or higher as well as like solo legend lost sectors. Obtainable but still requires a little bit of work on the player's part due to its potency.

Honestly, it’s not Thunderlord that’s the problem. It’s MG’s as a whole. The buff they got basically did nothing. Bungie needs to buff all machine guns DPS. Then for a catalyst: - Stormsurge - (Increase mag and reserve size.) Reduces the number of hits required to generate a lightning strike from 10 to 6. Gain increased Handling and Reload Speed when using an Arc Subclass. - The magazine would increase to 84 and can carry an additional magazine of ammo.

I think it definitely needs some love. I always forget they brought it back, I haven't used it since it was Gambit meta, and even then I only used it in Gambit (which I didn't really play to begin with). A catalyst would be nice, as well as a buff to the weapon. Or maybe just one or the other, idk what the catalyst would be or how strong it would make it

5 RepliesHaving it change elements will never ever happen for the following reasons: 1. It shoots physical bullets and not liquid ammo like hard light. It would have to be physically reloaded which would take forever. 2. The color scheme wouldn’t fit. Shooting solar bullets and and the blue and black scheme doesn’t fit. 3. Lore reasons. The maker of Thunderlord also created Nova Mortis and Abadon. They aren’t one in the same. 4. Religious reasons. Abadon deals with the Devil and hell and fire. Would it make sense for solar rounds to be coming out of a weapon named Thunderlord? It’s almost as logical as Sunshot shooting Stasis or Arc or Void. 5. It’s unoriginal. We have this with Hard Light and Borealis.

9 RepliesIts catalyst should play Thunderstruck by ACDC while you have it equipped. If you disagree with me, then i pity your existence.

Made this video about 5 months ago. Enjoy

2 RepliesDoes Thunderlord still have a secret Firefly effect?
-
Thunderlord's catalyst should be: Each lightining explosion kill, creates multi-arc explosions that increases Thunderlord's damage for a short duration.

1 ReplyThe catalysts was data-mined back in season 6 but never implemented, its was basically subsistence. Guess they changed it to a legendary weapon perk and forgot to add it to Thunderlord.

Thunderlord Catalyst : For every kill you generate landfall

1 ReplyPossibly the mightiest weapon in Destiny history. Cranked through good headphones the sound is apocalyptic!! Imagine paired with Dealbreaker’s metronomic death-rattle and Stillpiercer’s pneumatic rip and tear…just shooting baddies never sounded so good!! Could do with a few more rounds in the mag to get it spun up though :)

6 Repliescatalyst: "gods might" gratly improves its exotic perk and returns rounds on critical hit... the longer the gun is fired the faster it fires
