New class items
I’m not saying these should replace our current ones, I’m saying we could have two types to choose from
The current ones and these ones
I know a lot of Titans want what I’m gonna mention for them so that’s why I’m doing this

I think Hunters could get a poncho as a class item, I remember Cayde liked Hawthorne’s poncho and it fits the Hunter aesthetic

I can’t decide for Warlocks honestly, I’m thinking a hood but if any Warlocks reading this have a better idea feel free to comment

Why are Hunters so popular... yep everyone wants a cloak this causes more than a few "nerf the hunter" posts as a higher percentage of players will be a Hunter to look cool. 2. Watch the Incredibles movie (the first one as it covers capes). You want something like a Warlocks coat as it is more practical... closes at the front so better at keeping the weather out and has pockets.

Only other thing i could think of that may not cause armour clipping, would probably be unique scrolls of 'spells' or ancient writings, that, like Bonds, rest on our arms. Think of a similar look to the New Monarchy class item - 'Coronation Bond'. These Scrolls are purely endgame items as the cosmetics in mind are rather OTT, as I'll explain below.. For these to be considered over the standard bonds, they also produce an aura around us... different scrolls cast different auras. So the Aura will be cast all around us but a few centimetres from direct contact of our armour, a similar aura look to Year 1 Solstice armour for example, except purely the Glows/Aura that changes by whichever scroll we have equipped. Examples: So say you manage to grab pages written by Toland the Shattered on the Hive and darkness (from an upcomming raid chest), a unique Hive related aura will be emitted from the Scroll over our armour set (Hive markings maybe, Green/Black specks of animations flaring from our armour, the usual Hive noises maybe, etc). Or if you manage to grab scriptures from Osiris' books on the Vex, obtained from a Trials Flawless chest then equipping this will emit Fiery wings of a Pheonix and specks of orange/red flames, 1 or 2 Eyes of Horus (Trials Symbol), animating around our armour pieces.

Budgiezilla proposed a good idea for Warlocks class item: the coat. Your chest armor will no long be this huge part of your look. It’ll simply be on the chest, back and some coming off the waist. The class item will be the item that covers the upper arms, some chest, and depending on the item it could go over the upper legs or down past the knee.

While we’re at it, would be nice to have a helmet on/off toggle while outside of the Tower also. Mass Effect has a similar option, helmet toggle for always on, off, or only off during conversations. Would be nice to see, especially for the Exo guardians… but yea, alternatives to the standard class items would be a welcomed addition to the game.

They should bring back class item exotics don’t give them exotic perks but give them some kind of unique perk like +15 xp in crucible, gambit, vanguard strikes and such similar to how the class items in d1 were faction bonuses

So my problem with this is it's essentially giving everyone hunter class items. NOW I think ponchos are cool for hunters. But things over the shoulders, etc should stay with hunters. As a titan main, it hurts, but otherwise it is WAY too similar. I've always thought warlock class items are pointless. But, if you made it so it could extend all the way down and up the arm, it could be cool. Like, a bond that modifies your shoulder on one side or goes down to the and, etc. As for titans...well, I just don't know. Most butt -blam!- suck, but some of them are solid. I think Bungie just straight made a mistake with class items. Because every class should be able to use a cloak in my opinion.

We need more class items for sure. And I also have a nice change/addition to them to add some depth. Class items add +10 to the class' main stat (one that governs class ability) by default. And a nice touch to add to things that'd be cool is what if we had D1 artifacts back but different. Rather than artifacts, they're named trinkets to help differentiate. Unlike D1, no stats, no power level, and a single unique perk to that trinket. These trinkets are scattered around from specific sources that relate back to them. Just something that adds more character and an avenue to increase build depth and add new base mechanics to the game.
