Like really. The game is somewhat straight forward, but unlike crucible's "me shoot and run forward", Gambit requires just a little more, like looking at when your team has enough motes for an invasion and then actually banking them.
Or realising when you have 15 motes and banking them.
Is the level of general intelligence really this low? :(

No it’s just most people queue up to get the pinnacle and watch YouTube
-
I'll let you in on a secret. People don't GAF about gambit. Most are in there for the pinnacle only.
-
1 ReplySome people are playing to get bounties done, to get Malfeasance, to guild a triumph, not everyones goal is to win.
-
5 RepliesThe real low intelligence is the people that actually play it "seriously." Lmao... Yikes.

3 RepliesEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 10/31/2021 2:31:20 PMNobody cares and nobody plays it. People go in there for bounties and pinnacles. I think it's more a lack of intelligence on your part for expecting more.
-
3 RepliesHere I will help you to understand what you're really asking, and then I will answer your question. You are asking: Why does no one play the objective in Gambit, and why are they still shooting baddies with 15 motes while the other team is killing their primeval? And the answer is: because they couldn't possibly care any less about winning the match because it is completely pointless to do so. You're welcome!

1 ReplyEdited by CookieNiki: 10/31/2021 9:08:06 PMThere's something wrong with you if you think intelligence is needed to play anything in this game. It's even worse if you think anybody cares about Gambit besides doing bounties to get the pinnacles. That said, you may also want to thank Bungie for making bounties that work against the activity itself.

7 RepliesEdited by DredLaP: 10/31/2021 1:02:35 PMSunset Gambage. I really dont think it is. I think most just hate the mode and want their time in it, to go quickly, win or lose. Most people in there are chasing bounties, and a pinnacle. I think very few are in there because they enjoy it and want to play it. Being forced to play stuff you hate, makes you resent it and not care.
-
Gambit's always been the lower intelligence pool. Only low IQ people enjoy it. lol
-
I miss gambit prime a lot. The whole idea of armor set and roles were elite.
-
No, the crucible isnt straight forward, thats how you just play , move forward and shoot.

1 ReplyMy opinion Gambit is the best mode in the game. The problem is their are weapons and weapon combinations that do great in gambit. There also play styles that do great in gambit. Teams can actually work together (a radical concept) to completely dominate in gambit. Gambit is the best of both worlds both pvp and PvE and when you have a run of great gambit games it's way better than pvp or strike playlists.

As a Dredgen, I can play this many ways: I could guard the bank and fight Invaders and Blockers, I could focus on invasion, I could go for most kills possible, I could focus on kills for motes and always banking what I collect.... Its almost like their used to be a Sentry, Invader, Reaper, and Collector. None of that matters anymore so I go for kills and banking motes, if we can get a Primeval asap then we can burn it asap and win, I don't invade anymore, leave that to blueberries and fresh meat. Blueberries be blueberries...Gambit is gambling...
-
I get teamed with the idiot who has 15 motes and invades without banking first.
-
1 Replythese comments really show that the only people who hate gambit only play it once a week and are bad at it
-
1 ReplyStraight-up simple answer,… it’s a Team game-mode in a game filled with Heroes. Everyone thinks they can win it all by themselves without cooperating with anyone. And they would have pulled it off too if it wasn’t for those meddling kids and that dog.
-
I have to say I totally agree with you. I like gambit and it just takes a little more thinking and strategizing. People are just lazy and bad and blame it on the game. 🙄🙄🙄

2 RepliesGambit stopped being fun in 2018...
-
7 RepliesBasically no one cares about gambit, it’s a horrible experience and a means to an end.
-
wait. you are playing the objective and to win??? i got bounties to get done man!!! can't be bothered with any of that other stuff. lol
that's why....
1 ReplyYes! Need 2 more motes to get the monster out and ppl are running around trying to get 15 motes. I love it when i race out get 2 more and dump them in...... they lose all theirs.
-
As a solo player it’s the worse experience in destiny…. Somehow I always end up with morons… need 3 notes to get the prime evil out ? Some dude running around with 10 while everyone banked trying to get more and dies….. now the other team gets there’s up and wins…. Hey guys you took the heavy but the invasion portal is open and you didn’t jump in….
-
It’s really fun at times. If bungie would show it some love it would be excellent
-
Why? 1. The game is VERY punishing and VERY unforgiving to those who do not use the optimal loadouts and strategies. 2. Bungie structures the bounties in ways that encourage people to play in NON-OPTIMAL ways. (My favorite is the one that wants to you send a large blocker....so you have people running around trying to bank 15 motes...and they get caught with 10 on them during first invade.) 3. The game is a contest of build-strength and adaptability. So in addition to the issues of point 1, you get people who struggle with the need to rapidly change from a PVE to PVP mindset (and back) as well as struggle with developing the game sense of knowing when to do so. So you get PVE players who just keep playing PVE...and die so many times in a match that they they'll cost their team 40 or even 60 motes lost...and put it in a hole the team can't get out of. Or they camp the portal and just keep invading. 4. PVP plays an dreadfully unbalanced role in the game. A really good PVP player can actually control the entire match....and can sometimes determine who wins. . Whereas a good PVE player cannot carry a weak team to the anywhere near the same degree. Since you can't stop your teammates from dying with motes on them....and the game will only allow you to clear blockers but so fast if you get stuck with "team mates" that ignore the bank. So what happens is that your experience is determined by who you have for team mates....and how flexible you are as a player. Play with good team mates? Gambit is a blast. Play with people who don't know what they're doing? Gambit is a crazymaking nightmare of frustration.

The only reason I play gambit is for the role I want on the scout. I do my part killing and banking motes but I really don’t care if I win or lose.

I hate Gambit. It’s my favorite game.
