I've been hearing a lot of complaints about slug shotguns from people around the community. I personally feel like part of the reason people don't like slugs is because the range they operate in isn't always clear. Having the same white glow as a normal shotgun doesn't give the person any hints to the misfortune that comes from underestimating their range. That is why I believe changing the light's color would be helpful. Maybe to yellow like the Linear Fusion rifles. Just missing the usual horizontal glare that Linear Fusion Rifles have.

1 ReplyDo we have a blue light yet? I'm not saying it's a needed change, but it'd help with decision making mid gunfight Also give Chappy a slap
-
Bruh just make chaperones a big nasty orange glow and it would be unmistakable. I could care less about the others.

7 RepliesThey’re going to cry about the next weapon up regardless. So goes the cycle of whiners….. Slugs combat Fusions and vise versa. You can’t nerf one without Nerfing the other. This cycle will never end until we’re back to laning with primary’s like we’re back in Yr1 of D2…. Ppl need to buff their map awareness and stop crying for unneeded Nerfs.

8 RepliesEdited by COMBATICUS: 10/26/2021 9:32:04 PMHonestly its shotguns like chaperone. Sometimes when you die from it and notice how far some1 is when they used it, just makes you scratch your head to how the eff did he shoot and kill me from scout or HC range. I know it's a slug but come on. Even in trials it's the most used this weekend. Every trial match there was at least 2 ppl with it at all times.

5 RepliesI think people are tired of shotguns. We are still in a hand cannon shotgun meta. What has it been 3-4 years of this? 5 of the top ten most used crucible weapons are these two.
-
Been saying this. The amount of times I've died thinking I'm safe because of that white light, then I get 14 metered by Chappy.
-
Not yellow, maybe like orange instead. That way people wouldn’t confuse it with a lfr
-
A very good point. Bump

7 RepliesSlugs need less range in my opinion that tiny change won't matter much in the grand scheme of things
-
4 RepliesSlugs should not have the range of smg or side arms.. otherwise it makes it pointless using them as 99% of the player base users shotguns.. I’d also like to point out that shotgun kills got kinda old for me like 3 years ago. So easy to get the kill with them it became boring. So am guessing people who main them are window lickers who are scared to use anything else
-
Very good suggestion 👍🏼
-
a different glare won't make a difference, they're kinda busted

1 ReplyNot all slug shotguns, chap and duality are the problem. Too much range for guns that are shooting watermelons out of the barrel. Especially chap when it gets roadborne
-
Legendary slugs and duality are fine. Chaperone can get nerfed to the ground.
-
1 Replythey have too much range and are too forgiving getting ohk from 10-11m~ from normal slugs and 14-17 from chaperone aint fun
-
Really. The only slug shotgun that outperforms is the chaperone. All the others are rather balanced.
-
1 ReplyDie from a slug 9m out yeah no stress Clapped by a free god roll fusion rifle from 150m ….eye twitching
-
I never notice the lights on anything other than snipers, but of I did this would be a good idea 😆

3 RepliesEdited by Seoul: 10/25/2021 7:11:59 AMEDIT: This post is about the replies to the topic, not the OP itself. This forum is the sole catalyst of all the nerfs for this franchise. From the pinnacles, to the fusions, to the snipers, to the shotguns. It doesn't matter, you will find something to complain about, exclusively due to the fact it is killing you in pvp. This weapon (chaperone) has been the same since Forsaken, never got buffed or a 'direct' nerf. But due to the increase in usage which indirectly means you're dying to it more now, should get the nerf hammer. Complaining about it only now but not back in Forsaken just exposed you. That is the hard pill to swallow, if it kills me it is unbalanced, therefore requires a nerf. If it doesn't then it is balanced. Pathetic, honestly. Nerf it, go ahead but it won't stop what's coming to you: Being killed by the next meta selection in the game.

Edited by Harrowed Chaos: 10/24/2021 11:38:44 PMI don’t care what color their glint is. Go do a Samual L. Jackson and make them purple(but seriously, this would be a nice change)but please just increase their flinch. I’m beaming people with a Multimach while they’re sliding and I’m still getting domed
-
You all just complain Whenever something kills you. Won't matter what it is
-
5 RepliesIt's not slugs that are a problem, just chaperone. The hit box feels substantially greater than any other by a severe margin. Nerf that so it can't be used in the exact same way as a normal pellet shotgun with more range and it will be fine. One weapon should not represent an entire archetype.

2 Repliesi had an idea that slug shotguns could 1 shot body shot at half its effective range an example would be if your chaparon has 10 meters of effective range it can one shot to the body within 5 to 4 meters
-
Edited by Chucky: 10/24/2021 12:49:34 PMIt’s not terrible idea, wouldn’t say necessary but also not opposed to it neither

4 RepliesAny notable special shotguns that are worth using?
