THEORY: Prophecy Foreshadows The Final Shape

Two ideas sprung up in my head, and after thinking about it, I'm surprised no one else has talked about it. I could be wrong, but I want to share just in case. For starters, Bungie really likes to sprinkle two motifs through the game's worlds and spaces: Circles, spheres, and smooth edges: Light Triangles, triangular prisms, and pyramids: Darkness I bring up the Prophecy dungeon because these motifs are littered here. One space is filled with floating spheres, there's holes in the wall that are circle shaped, and the arena is a hemisphere with a rotating gyro around it. Another space is the Kell Echo fight. The floors are triangles in a room that's a triangular prism in a structure that is literally a pyramid. Prophecy's message, at least according to loremasters, is how the Light and Darkness only differ in name and philosophy. The two forces themselves don't function differently from each other and can be used to achieve the same ends. This message is meant for the characters to realize that it's ok to wield the Darkness. These forces are just tools. Nothing more. Nothing less. However, what stands out to me is the 2nd encounter. That room is just a giant rotating cube filled with squares, rectangles, you name it. This space is the only one with this motif, so does this room hold any meaning? Is Bungie hinting at a 3rd paracausal entity or philosophy we don't know of? >"You're thinking too far into it." Well, Prophecy also shows the four vaulted locations in the Wastelands, Io, Mercury, Mars, and Titan. We now also wield stasis, and those four destinations eventually disappeared. Prophecy's purpose is to foreshadow. Why can't we apply it's foreshadowing elsewhere? Take a look at how Prophecy's encounters are structured. We begin in a circular space (Light), we then move to the Cube room (???), and where do we end? A giant pyramid (Darkness). Given that the phrase "the final shape" is a reference to the idea that the universe is winding down to one single state of one continuous pattern, the dungeon's level design implies that we are headed to an end where the Darkness prevails. After all, look at what other characters say: Elsie has been fighting between universes where all of them ended with the Darkness winning, Osiris could only find simulatws futures where the Darkness won using the Sundial, and Savathûn appears to be finding ways to not only rid her worm but also become immortal. In fact, Savathûn and Mara have told us that not only another force is currently controlling the Taken, but this force is much older than we know is kinda operating in the background. What do you guys think? Is there a pattern here?

Babylon 5. The light (vorlons), the dark (shadows) and the most ancient (first one). Guardians are working towards transendence beyond the universe.

    • It was foreshadowing beyond light. In the desert area it showed the different planets being taken away, and the boss was a kell

      • There isn’t a third god. The main point of separating the powers from the Gods is for after the Dark and Light Saga. Since most of the lore until Shadowkeep seemed to imply without them there would be no power.

        • Judging that everything in Shadowkeep was simply to foreshadow, I would have to agree that you’re on to something.

        • <The purpose of the cube is, according to the designers, meant to smoothly transition the mostly orb/circular first encounter to the final encounter, which takes place in a tetrahedral room. Basically they're simplifying shapes until they come to the simplest one at the end.>
