Bought the game last month just in time for Iron Banner. Knew as an undergeared player I would suffer but got through it with a full set of decent IB gear. I thought I used to be average in crucible, but can barley maintain a .5 k/d . I can clear any pve area no problems and often get the most challenging quests done solo, but crucible is a game of its own. The armor is useless. Just pick one set and max it out. Picked up good ole Last Word to find it cant hit the broad side of a barn. What has happened to the first person shooter game we all fell in love with in 2014? I want the sound of Last Word to be something the other team fears again. There is no weapon diversity here, its only Vex this or Vex that. I want to play crucible but not under the sandbox conditions it is in now.

1 ReplyThe last word shreds what are you talking about.. may just be your aim.. or the range you're trying to use it from

It would be a very very boring game if someone who just started playing could right away compete with people who have been playing for years. Last word is good on controller. But not so much on MnK. Ive seen people use last word on a controller in pc pvp and own the lobby. There’s plenty of weapon diversity. Hand cannons, auto rifles, bows, pulse rifles, smgs, etc all have viable options in pvp. And while I’m not really a Destiny statistic guy, from what I read from players on here .5kd is almost average. I could be wrong though. I mentioned having a crap 1.3kd and being a lower skilled play this season and players were raging at me saying that kd was much higher than the average player. I don’t believe that personally but don’t care enough to look it up. So take that last statement with a grain of salt lol.

4 RepliesThis thread is a case study of how PvE flatters players about their own ability and PvP often ends up being a rude awakening.

1 ReplyAiming is easier on Pc.

1 ReplyIt’s easier to blame and keep your hands steady on a mouse and it is a controller because that’s why they make it Amos is for controllers and I computers because a mouse your hand naturally moves when you’re trying to focus and it’s in your using a mouse it’s not hard at all but on a controller with a Styx the slightest movement it picks up so that’s why there’s amethyst controllers and not on PC so it’s super easy to make a gun look like it has no recoil on PC

1 ReplyIt takes dedication to find your groove in destiny’s PvP now. No jumping in and feeling like you have room to test out weapons etc… Just about every game is like jumping on a treadmill already rolling at the highest speed.. But you will get it. Weapons? It is very hard to find something that feels consistent. Reason? No consistency in match making. You can play a group of noobs that have no clue of what is going on(mostly they end up on your team though it seems) or you can go against juiced up roided gods of gaming and even moving feels impossible and this can make you throw your hands up as you try to find the weapons/load out you like. My recommendations as you get familiar.. get the darkest before pulse rifle from the prophecy dungeon or servant leader scout from gambit. Both are very strong and puts you way out of the ranges that vex or hand cannons will melt you. As far as a secondary… you will have to play around. Once you get close to players.. it is a 50/50 game of being able to counter what is out there. Slug shotguns out range sidearms and normal shotguns Smg’s still compete.. but once again, comes down to how aware you are via proximities. But it takes a day to find your spot and then after that, it is just trial and error to improve your stats.
