Sentinal Shield is a literal shield meant to block damage but in crucible it’s eats up your super meter when you block damage and when you’re getting shot by 3 or more guardians you’re better off running than trying to block damage. And here we have arc staff practically blocking all damage and even reflecting it back, and you can even reflect supers and your super meter lasts a long time while doing that, and you have raijus harness which allows you to remove the penalty of losing significantly less super energy. Why is a literal defensive super that when used defensively is beat by an offensive super that somehow gets amazing defensive capabilities?

I’ve queried about the sentinel issues often in the pass as I see them. I agree they are ridiculous compared to hunters and warlocks abilities. Just simply balance things out for the sentinel. If they are supposed to be physically stronger then make it so. You are absolutely correct. The shield should be thrown as often as possible, should be able fire while holding a shield, should reflect damage back on combatants, could even go so far as to throw shield like the hammer is thrown for melee. It’s a useless super unless your part of a fire team, and it’s still useless for you since your just being sacrificed as there protection. Just buff the Titans!

27 RepliesWtf? You lose the SAME amount of super for blocking, I like how you mention an exotic chest piece removing the penalty as if titans don't have a plethora of strong exotics too, Ursa gives you half your super back after being fired on and you have a ranged ability in super too. Like what even was this post other then "I don't use sentinel correctly so nerf arcstaff"
-
You do realise that blocking damage with sentinel drains super energy ....but blocking with arcstrider drains super all the time even if you dont reflect. And sentinel can get 50% back after the super ends with exotics or get 20% super energy back on a shield throw hit with another exotic.....or get 20% super energy on a melee kill with another exotic.

Edited by JaerTheBear: 10/12/2021 3:00:41 PMAh yes, now that Shatter dive is nerfed, time to move to the next ability to screech about

7 RepliesUnderstood. Nerfing Warlocks.
-
3 RepliesAnd can they make it to where getting hit by a sentinel shield actually does damage? I was playing a mayhem private match, and it felt like I was better off using my weapons than popping my super.
-
We’ll let the team know and get back you when Lightfall drops. Cheers
-
1 ReplyHow about this -blam!-. If you go middle tree and use banner the hunter stass super can freeze you through the banner, and Landfall will also kill you
-
Literally this, Sentinel has to be the worst Titan class (if not the worst class overall) in the entire game. In PvP, the only thing you have going for you is Bottom-Tree with two throwing shield, but even then, you'll die so quickly while in the animation, you'll only get one off.
-
4 RepliesThen we got Top and Bottom Arc Staff, both Tether subclasses, Blade Barrage, you can argue that way of the outlaw is not very good and the list goes on. But y’know people hate Hunter just because of Stasis but light Hunter sucks if you don’t play in a niche way. (Like I like to use double weighted knives)
-
No,yes,maybe.
-
3 RepliesThe titan has a shield he can throw to do damage at distance, the point of the strider block is that the hunter can't, they have to just slowly walk up to you This is also an issue in that in total titans are faster than hunters by a significant amount making it easier to gap close.
-
9 RepliesTypical bungie hunter basis. Thats why sentinel is -blam!-.
-
7 RepliesCareful, the entire D2 Hunter population came after me the last time I dared to suggest that a roaming super that can literally become invincible whenever you want with little trade-off might be unbalanced. Seriously though, this has been a massive issue since these supers were introduced in Forsaken and it’s about time they get on the chopping block. Idk how they’ve managed to stay under the radar this long.
-
3 RepliesWait till the void 3.0 hits. Then we should make posts, something tells me the new void updates will make void abilities, supers and their fragments op and new meta. If by then they havent done anything then we def should voice our opinions and make feedback about it.

6 RepliesArc strider block burns fast, Raijus harness makes it a little better.
-
16 RepliesBuff Tether.
-
Its the hardest titan subclass to use, but it have a lot of potential. Anyways its getting a rework next season so we'll see
-
3 RepliesHaha code of the aggressor is my current favorite titan. With doom fang it’s one of the best supers period.
-
Honestly, I'm just embarrassed when I see a middle tree arcstrider wirlimg his staff and walking around trying to look cool.
-
1 ReplySentinal shield I feel just doesn't do good in PvP. At most ward of dawn to secure a capture point. Also let arcstaff be, it has finally had a balance. Instead of maybe shooting at mid tree arcstaff. Have you thought of having a brain and running.
-
2 RepliesThey for some reason added super cost just for activating the block too, which drains your super even faster if you deactivate and reactivate it between engagements. A single fusion blast pretty much obliterates sentinel shield and you lose your entire super for it.
-
6 RepliesThat’s kinda the point, you block the damage and to balance it out you lose super meter.
-
5 RepliesShield throw balances it out
-
6 Repliesthat's one path for Arc staff. all sentinel paths can block damage with a large shield that allies can also use. one path even increases weapon damage for allies shooting through it. titans have exotics to improve the blocking and regaining super energy. They also have an exotic that lets them reflect incoming projectiles and supers by simply sliding and can be used with any subclass.

3 RepliesA staff is always balanced dweeb, otherwise it would be a lance, spear or a club. Pfft get your facts right
