Full circle. Bungie is listening, my a$$.
Watch the server numbers. They are.
When too many people have too much fun, Bungie must reduce this to maintain the loyal fan base / streamers - because they provide the best zero cost advertising solution.
When your sponsors don't like the direction change, you don't get as much coverage. Bungie spends a lot of cycles balancing their enterprise, maximizing profits, etc...
Player happiness is not a metric they understand. This "theory" has been proven since Destiny launch in 2014. Which is why I was confused when Rise of Iron came out. It fixed *most things that plagued Destiny.
Then D2 comes out and wrecks just about every. single. improvement. Then this pattern repeats every few months, and altered where necessary when DLCs are on the horizon.
Then they say - "we're listening"
I think the mystery for many is - listening to what?
Some of us might think the only things they listen to are player numbers & hours, and streamer opinions.
That drives sales. Sales increase revenue. Revenue pays salaries and bills. Salaries keep people employed and happy. Employees make changes (not always good ones). Changes lead to posts like this.
