Stop pitting 3 solos against a 3 stack in Trials, it feels AWFUL.
What moron even thinks this is remotely balanced? They're almost always 5-0 blowouts simply because they can communicate with each other. I'd rather wait more time to get a balanced game than waste 10 minutes on a match I know I have to lose.
Let me also append my feedback to state just HOW MANY TIMES that happens. In the 10 matches I've play tonight, only 1 or 2 were NOT against 3 stacks. All the others were, and twice I got rematched by 2 separate 3 stacks that half already 5-0'd me.

I don't have a problem with it. I've gone flawless with rando's multiple times since the revamp against 3 stacks. You typically only come across 3 stacks on matches 1,2, and 7 anyway

Do you think solo queuers should realistically expect to do well in trials? Freelance will come out soon enough, we will see what people complain about then.

The issue isn’t just 3-stacks. The issue is lobby and skill balancing. I’ve been on a team with other randoms and we smoked a 3-stack. Other times it was close and came down to round 9 to decide the winner. Sure there have also been 5-0 blow outs. But that’s not just because they were a 3-stack. It’s because the skill level of one or more of those in the 3-stack is that much greater than those on the team of randoms. If the average k/d on the random team is 1.2 vs the 3-stack with an average of 3.0 then it’s not going to end well for the team of randoms in that case. Constantly matching based on wins will and does lead to good teams that are currently flawless at 5 wins getting matched against poor teams of people with a 20% win rate also at 5 wins for the weekend. But it’s not like every pre-built 3-stack is good enough to go flawless.

I'm gonna make a prediction. Bungie adds freelance, Solos whine and cry about getting bad teammates as the majority of good players will just run stacked, Bungie turns on heavier SBMM, Solos get upset they have to sweat every game, Solos find a team for an easier time matchmaking. Wanna know how to solve all these problems? Get a team. You don't see people asking for GMs to be easier because they want to solo them.

5 RepliesOr how about stop using this as an excuse to being bad at the game? I play trials both as a solo and with a team and there is LITERALLY no difference between the two. Once you realize you are the problem, then you can learn to work on yourself instead of always crying that some external force is the reason you aren’t good.

I agree with you. Ignore all the sweats that say get a team. The point in they half implemented match making. Its Bungie's fault they match 3 solo vs a 3 stack. I am a programmer, its easy to program if a 3 stack is in match making, only match against other 3 stacks. All others go into another pool. If it stays the way it is, trials will die again.

Sweaties mockingly saying "get a team" while benefiting from easy wins then stop playing after the restricted pool goes live because they don't want an actual challenge regardless of their claims. Bungie activates freelance, instantly forcing all teams to exclusively play against other sweaty players because everyone else is in free lance. Sweaty players make surprised Pikachu face.

They dont care about randos getting higher tier rewards in the explanation, but rather keeping them in a hell-loop of win-loss cycles. Also this game is terrible for PVP, why is anyone taking it serious?

One fix they could implement is actually making in game coms work... Like instead of timmy being so quiet i cant hear him unless he yells or Johnny refusing to get into team coms. Make it old Cod lobby rules. You cant be in a party if your solo que and you have to be in voice chat or at the very least be able to hear your team.

Don't play the playlist, leave, i left..after some weeks it will only be the sweats, as long you (Solo players) still playing that mode it' will get worse, and you're basically feeding those streamers and sweats all weekend, they will eat each other in a few weeks if solos and casuals leave.

1 ReplyThere just aren't many people duo queuing. As a solo you have two options: Play with a duo team or play with 2 other solo players. There just isn't that many duo teams. Most people who can duo queue just go and find one more player for a full fireteam. I do agree that if it can find you 2 solo players to play with then it shpuld prioritize finding 3 more to match against, but there are many reasons why solo queuing sucks, and some of them are just the nature of solo matchmaking in a team based activity; outside of bungies control without having a freelance mode.

I'm on ranking Heroic II (mostly from losses. I can't even count how many games I've played and lost since the matchmaking is terrible, and I'm just with TWO victories since trials got back. It's extremely frustrating that I won't get that 7 wins because of a terrible matchmaking.

Then use the damn game chat. I solo queue and always join the chat. Maybe one out of every 10 matches, one other person on my team will also join it...

There is gamechat for comms with randos. If you solo then you should know what to expect here. I don’t feel pity, plus we’ve all be defeated by randoms at one point or another.

Wasnt terrible Saturday afternoon in florida. Then around 9 pm eastern nothing but randoms v stacks. I dont think each match lasted longer than 5 minutes. Its a sitcom really without a laugh track.
