The game has gotten better in some areas and it's gotten extremely worse on others.
Good:
Story
Trials new system
Bad
Everything else (especially Cross Play)
I hope this game dies.
I don't know what Bungie keeps doing, but they are digging themselves into a hole.

Saying that you hope the game dies is kind of ridiculous. I feel like alot of guardians nowadays exclaim their disappointment with the game in areas, where it has honestly improved from where it once were, I think destiny is in a good place, even with their yanky spots. But sometimes you just have to allow for time to do its thing so developers have time to improve on some systems and peel off unwanted systems.

Honestly curious what wrong with cross platform?
-
It's totally ruined PvP, gambit, and often pve too. PSN players have lag shields n teleport nonstop. If there's PSN players in my instance the game runs like crap :(
-
Is this a real thing or confirmation bias?
-
It's very very real unfortunately. I had 6 years on PSN n the network is a joke. It's more to do with mm which I always assumee was on bungies end BUT on psn I mostly match people from the middle East, Russia, and to a lesser degree Asia. These places are 5000+ miles away from me, causing huge pings for all concerned. This never made sense as I'm wired, business class internet, n this doesn't happen in any other game. Destiny PSN population is double that of Xbox but I was always told Xbox was much better regarding stability. Moved to Xbox for new gen n they where right, almost no lag, most players from the UK, a few from Europe but near me like France, Germany, Belgium. A much better experience. Since crossplay my lobbies are now chock full of PSN players, I'm seeing the same names n clans from my time on PSN, mostly people from places like Kuwait, Saudi, Russia, and lots of Chinese. There's usually a few Xbox guys in each lobby but a good amount of the time I'm in full PSN lobbies. Causes issues like strike doors not opening for me (but PSN guy go through like it's opened), chests not opening, bosses not spawning, even the loom in the tower wouldn't work, tower full of PSN players. Had to reload 7 towers until I got an almost empty one with mostly Xbox players, loom worked straight away. Invaders in gambit barely take damage, or do so very delayed. Getting melees from 20 ft away in crucible, people warping, moving like they're sat on a magic carpet. It's made my whole experience worse than it was before. And I can't turn it off or I'd happily play alone.

Cross platform has had benefits. My two cents the negative are pc players having advantage over consoles, pc cheaters invading into consoles, unable to send in game messages to consoles, inability to do voice chat without a third party like discord.
-
Pc players don't match console, unless YOU choose to play in the pc pool.
-
PC players do match with console players for everything except PvP if you have crossplay enabled.

Yeah I assumed he meant PvP. I can't turn it off, no option too :(
