Hello,
My Destiny clan is a mix of Xbox, PlayStation and PC members we were all so stoked when cross-play became a reality in D2. Was pretty excited a few weeks ago clearing VoG with a fireteam consisting of at least one person from each platform. Audio communication seemed fine once we worked out the settings. Flash forward this past weekend and last night, Saturday night teamed up with a couple PlayStation friends for Trials (I'm on Xbox). We couldn't get audio communication to work. Confirmed both Steam and Xbox setting were correct and tried again last night, I could hear them now but they still couldn't hear me.
These are my current settings:
Steam Settings: Voice Chat
Voice Chat - On (Default)
Push-To-Talk - Off (Default)
Team Voice Channel - Manually Opt-In (Default)
Xbox Settings: Voice Chat
Voice Output Settings - Headset Only (Default)
Team Voice Channel - Manually Opt-In (Default)
Any ideas that could help us with this?
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

First of thanks for all the feedback and support. Here's an update on how thing have progressed. After some more investigation i found a setting on Xbox under Privacy &online safety as follows: "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" - I had it set to 'In-game friends' but switched it to "Allow'. I thinks if I and my PC and PlayStation clan member were "Bungie friends" it might have work as is but with such a big cross section i haven't exchanged friends with the other platforms yet. So i switch it to 'Allow' this past Monday night I got invite to play Iron Banner (not realizing the team was a mix from Xbox, PC and PlayStation). I was able to communicate with all my teammate and they with me. Chatting in the game lobby between games, we concluded that the Steam Voice chat, (see my OG post), was the key, once we got all the privacy stuff worked out on both consoles. So Huzzah and fingers crossed that it continues to work. Cheers Everyone and Good Games!

1 ReplyHey Jetstream204, Just to check in, are you still experiencing this? The game chat issue with console and pc is still occurring more and more from what I've read on the forums and personal experience. It seems there's no remedy at all to this, so the best thing is that Bungie can look into this. They've done a great job with the cross-play launch, so I suspect it'll be fixed soon with the amount of reports coming in. Thanks, Jaredd

I have the same issue on X-box Series X. Can't hear cross platform players in game chat. I've checked all there is to check. I also noticed that if I'm in game chat, I can't hear my "voice recorded" messages in my inbox. If I quit the Destiny 2 game, I can then hear the voice recorded messages again. Maybe someone can reproduce that as well. There's definitely some issue with Bungie's voice chat platform.

We are having same issues with clan we have a people on ps5 and on Xbox One, but we are unable to voice chat at all. Only thing we get is that I can see when someone has a headset sometimes

We ran into a similar challenge and have read all the guides out there with no luck. A couple of us are on PS5 and our buddy on XBox One could hear us just fine, but we couldn't hear him no matter what we tried. We'll keep hunting for any info that might help...

1 ReplyIf possible, I would like to know about this too. I just tried moving to game chat to raid with a friend on PC but couldn't access any kind of in-game chat. Yet everyone else in my PSN party (both on ps4 and ps5) could access in game chat. I've restarted system, app, and party several times and nothing. Had to give up in the end.
