Speedrunners in strikes/ nightfalls
There really should be a way to punish people who speed run their way through strikes and nightfalls. Too many times I watch someone sprint through all the champions to the boss forcing everyone else to come along and get trash tier rewards at the end. Even in the playlist there will be people running passed everything and causing them to despawn, making bounties and overall quest progression near impossible in a timely manner.
This should be addressed since Bungie already had to make a patch for the streak bonus since if you got joining allies it would reset your rank.

I hate strikes. Only do it for the pinnacle. I’m opposite, I hope those guys are on my team. Get it over with asap.

4 RepliesPersonally, I’m not a fan of those who speed run and leave the concentration of enemies for those left behind, BUT we all have separate goals in the game. For all we know they could be doing a quest/bounty that requires NF completions. We aren’t all on the same schedule either. I don’t think those speed running should be punished, but there should be better incentives for doing the activity how it was created to be completed.

Regular Strikes no; Nightfalls I agree. Regular Strikes have the same rewards irrespective of kills, speed, damage, etc Nightfalls have rewards based on score and Champ kills, so skipping Champs ruins the rewards.

If your in a mm activity you get what you get. If you care about rewards/bounties go on higher difficulty/use fire team

Just do a 100k with some friends. As for the strike playlist (for the pinnacle), that should always be Speedrun. No real incentive to stay longer and kill everything.

Yea, because turning a 5 minute activity into 20 minutes is super fun. People have done the strike hundreds of times and want to be done ASAP. Either shoot and run or solo queue. In nightfalls, assuming you are doing matchmade hero, do you really expect rewards from that? Get a team and do masters.

36 RepliesLearn to run and shoot. You don’t have to stop and play footsie with every trash mob; kill it and move on. If you can’t get bounties done [i]and[/i] get through the strike very quickly, it’s on you. NFs are a different matter. Despawning champions is a dik-dik move. Though I’ve found some people don’t know when/where champions spawn and move on unknowingly.

3 RepliesIf they do it right they can get all the champions and speedrun, my buddy and i do it every week. It helps if you have someone with stasis and a sword, champions go down pretty quick with stasis and a sword.

I mean if this is an issue you're only playing on hero difficulty where the rewards suck anyway.

The rewards are the same speed run or night. The only thing a strike is good for is the Pinnacle, same goes for nightfall until oct 5th. When that comes, you shouldn’t have to much worry in NF, because you don’t have match making in GM NF. As for strikes and you trying to do bounties, go into a lost sector if the strike is near one. It’s Bungies fault everyone speed run.

3 strikes and 4 bounties can all be done with the quickness. I've played the insight terminus 164927264 times and don't want to kill every last psion. Just trying to get that pinny and some xp in as little time as possible. Sorry bro[spoiler] not sorry[/spoiler]

And this is why we are never getting matchmaking in endgame PvE activities. But its also your own fault. You can just do the non matchmade version.

I will say that this situation always falls a bit flat to garner any sympathy from me. Why? Because most bounties don't require much beyond just killing stuff as it is, and if you're taking too long to get, what, 25 kills at the most for weapon bounties, then just try launching a destination strike, and go to a lost sector. As for nightfalls, champions on hero difficulty, the only one where "speed runners" can "ruin" getting platinum, they don't take much to kill. Especially this season. You can use PD with a decent fusion rifle to kill an overload champion or kill a barrier champion before their gimmick kicks in. Champjok mods not needed. Honestly, at the end of the day, you can't complain about other players playing a match made playlist the way they want. If it's that much of an issue, make the small bit of effort to put a quick team togther for the sake of bounty or challenge completions. Just understand that some people either want to be done with their weekly objective as fast as possible and do something else. Can't get mad at someone for being efficient with their time. Sabotage would be a different thing entirely, but speed running a strike isn't that.

Obviously, you’re off completing bounties instead of following the objectives and completing the strike, so if anything you should be the one getting punished.

The division of activities you ask for already exists. This is the reason why the assaults or nightfalls that are matchmaking are the low ranked ones. At these levels, no one who plays seriously is going to farm 100k, contracts are completed as soon as possible and you are going to do the activities you want with your team. If your intention is to do missions slowly and with good writing, to farm 100k and exceptional, I recommend that you find a clan and a group of players so that you start with the end-game content such as GMs and Masters. As long as you use assaults or nightfalls with mach, this will happen as normal when pairing up with end game people.
