It’s…~tschk~ strangely beautiful. ~tschk~’ F: ‘Indeed, it’s oddly hypnotic!’ *switches voice* ‘But I know they’re just using it to lure people.’ G: ‘~tschk~ How would you know that? ~tschk~’ F: ‘Because I’ve been seeing it put people into a trance. Other captains, Fallen, Cabal.’ *switches voice* ‘But I can’t blame them! The Vex sure know how to make a nice tune!’ G: ‘~tschk~ Failsafe, have you seen where they went? ~tschk~’ F: ‘Likely following the music! It sounds like it’s coming from the Cistern!’ *switches voice* ‘Not that I’d know where it’s coming from exactly.’ G: ‘~tschk~ Sounds like something the Vanguard should have us investigate. The Trapper[/b] [spoiler]“‘You guys have heard the stories, right?’ ‘About what?’ Three Guardians are sitting around a campfire on Nessus at night. ‘A strange Minotaur supposedly roams these parts. Isn’t like normal Vex. When it sees you, it catches you in a trap and drags you away to Traveler-knows where.’ ‘Tsk, sounds like a children’s bedtime story if you ask me.’ ‘Then explain why Guardians are vanishing here. Huh? What’s causing that?’ ‘How should we know?! Whatever it is obviously doesn’t wanna reveal itself.’ ‘Exactly, it’s the Trapper.’ ‘I don’t give a [expletive] if it’s Atheon resurrected! If it’s a Vex, I can kill it and take its gun for my own.’ ‘There you go, thinking like a Titan again.’ ‘I’m always thinking like a Titan, I am one.’ ‘And you both are skeptics that are gonna get yourselves disappeared here if you’re not careful.’ ‘Oh my Traveler, nothing is going to-‘ Strange singing in the distance. ‘What is that?’ ‘Is it music?’ ‘It’s…it’s beautiful.’ The Guardians get up slowly and begin walking towards the sound. They are never seen again.”[/spoiler] [b]3. The Sirens[/b] [spoiler]“The Cryptarch’s have been closely studying what you brought back from the Well of Flame. It appears that the Vex are evolving in response to current state of affairs in the System. Sirens are a new Vex unit, slender and almost feminine-looking, nearly human. Inspired by Hive Deathsingers and Warlock Guardians in physique as well as the recent actions of Ghaul and Savathûn for their powers. They act out a directive called ‘The Timeless Song,’ likely the melody you and so many others heard out in the field. They lure enemies into their lair, incapacitate them, and submit them to their overseers, Afairos and Xylar. With each successful offering, they themselves gained new Guardian powers. It appears that the Vex were planning to begin mass-production of Sirens pre-equipped with Light abilities for their regular forces, a Vex version of Guardians to fight fire with fire, so to speak. These developments are troubling. The forces of Darkness all seem fixated on using our own weapons against us. We must ensure they are stopped, and destroyed.”- Ikora Rey[/spoiler] [b]4. Afairos, Extraction Mind[/b] [spoiler]“First the Cabal, then the Hive. Now it seems the Vex wish to pull our gift of Light away from us to instead use as their own. The Extraction Mind is the newest addition to the Vex Collective, and with just one purpose: supply the Vex with Light. While Sirens are intended to be the actual wielders of it, they need a supplier. Without the Traveler, Afairos had to fulfill that role. The Sirens encountered beneath the Well of Flame were just prototypes, constructed for Afairos to use as servants to lure unsuspecting Guardians to their permanent deaths. Afterwards, Afairos would engage in some type of ritual that we still don’t understand, but which allowed it to gain a physical grasp on a Guardian’s Light and pull it out to then insert it into a Vex. When it succeeded for the Sirens, Afairos’ master, Xylar, wished to receive the Light as well. But you stopped those plans.”- Ikora Rey [/spoiler] [b]5. Xylar, The Timeless[/b] [spoiler]“Xylar; a legend seemingly as old as the Vex. Rumors of an Axis Mind more powerful than Atheon lurking in the Vault of Glass circulated for years. Though time and time again, we found nothing. The Vanguard began to believe Xylar was just a myth conjured up by Guardians to entertain themselves. We were very, very wrong. Tapping into the Vex network via confluxes on Nessus revealed Xylar was indeed real, but secretive. Its purpose until recently had been to monitor the Vex’s progress in transforming the Solar System into machine planets, but their countless setbacks over the years prompted ‘The Timeless’ to finally emerge from wherever the Vex call ‘home’ and reveal itself. It was Xylar’s idea to attempt to grant Light to the Vex, seeing it as the only sure path to victory when even controlling time itself didn’t work. Xylar was smart, seeming to have studied everything about humanity, the Light, the Darkness, the Hive, Cabal, Fallen. Nothing escaped its eyes. Which is why when Savathûn actually succeeded in imbuing her Hive with Light, it gave Xylar all the more reason to try as well. And thus, the Sirens were made, inspired by Hive Deathsingers as well as Warlock Guardians. Your efforts cannot go unnoticed. Time and time again you save humanity from potential destruction. Timeless Hunt (Exotic Bow)[/b] [spoiler]“‘No matter where you are, no matter what timeline you hide in, I will find you.’ G: ‘Hey Banshee, got a request for ya.’ B: ‘What the hell is all this?’ G: ‘I scavenged a bunch of this stuff from my last mission on Nessus. Was wondering if you could make a combat bow out of it.’ B: ‘Is that a Vex arm? I’m sorry kid, but I’m not so sure I can do this.’ G: ‘Ah come on, it’ll hold. Just wire this around the top of the arm and at the wrist, install a sight, and load this Vex tech into it to make it shoot digital arrows. Easy.’ B: ‘I’m sorry, “digital arrows?” Vick are you sure you’re feeling ok today? Did the Vex do something to you?’ G: ‘I’ve seen them teleport, be able to fase their bodies through solid objects. I figured out how they do it and I want it transferred to this. Like I said, I brought the specs and everything with me. I just need you to put it together.
