Want to increase the Trials population?

Enable the Flawless Pool the second Trials goes live on Friday. Stop catering to the minority. The average player i.e. the majority, could give a blam about the content creators or sweats. If they need content, they should match people of their own skill level.

Want to increase the Trials population for real? Let anyone buy the Adept weapon as long as they have a 7 win card. No restrictive matchmaking. No solo vs solo or team vs team. No "card based" or "skill based" or "flawless only" or whatever else matchmaking you want to do. Buy a card, get 7 wins, buy the adept. Get 7-0, go to the lighthouse and get it for free, heck get 2 or 3 of em for free from the box. There's your incentive. You don't want to drop mad coin for an attempt? Go Flawless. If you've been to the lighthouse that week, you get an aura or a "buff" that stays for weekend and now you'll get an adept drop every other match you win and a chance at high stat armor to drop after each match. Boom. More incentive to go flawless. Get 7-1, 7-10, heck 7-999, (you is a sadist) congratulations! You can buy it from Saint-14. Problem is, if you want to buy it, it's expensive. Heck, make it 100k glimmer, 300 shards, your card and 2 Trials engrams. You want another roll? Buy another card and get 7 wins again. You either get freebies from the Lighthouse or bust your buns and your wallet and buy one from Saint-14. There. Casuals can get the gun. Semi-sweats can get the gun. Super sweats can get the gun. The best of the best can get it more often and for waaay less than the casuals.. Your play time is rewarded. The Trials player pool is healthy and we can stop debating on how to "fix" Trials and move on to other things. Thank you.

      • The skill curve is a standard distribution. There’s an equal amount of good players to bad players. The main difference is one plays a lot so why not cater to them

        • This, but also make the rewards for continuing to play on after hiotting Flawless worth it. Trials was underpopulated because there was no reason to go in if you weren't a top PvPer (or a hacker); and frankly, it's gonna return to that once most of the player base has whatever grindable rewards they wanted (TT/Vorpal Reed's in my case). There is no point going into Trials to get stomped by the top PvPers, knowing that you'll get Flawless if the stars align and you get the better team in every single match on the route. To put it another way; there's a reason Survival is pretty dead.....

        • I totally agree but unfortunately bungie and so many other devs see content creators as free advertising as their followers get influenced by them..one of the reasons I like pve so much…I see pvp as a content creators owned portion of the game..but this is gaming these days and this is the devil YouTube created..I liked the first week of the new trials but the last couple of weeks have been a bit terrible and back to its normal -blam!- pvp To all you content creators -blam!- off and stop ruining gaming.

        • Or a better solution is to this would be once you get flawless you can only lose itif you reset your card.

        • SBMM only makes things worse, look at past implementations of it in D1 and D2. And it seems like you want to kill the replayability* of trials. Go flawless once on Friday and you're now forced to wait until Sunday unless you want your KD to tank

        • The only real change I would like to see is the addition of end of match rewards. They could add the old gear on as end of match drops, or at the very least attach them to bounties. They did it in D1 and people loved it, I’m not sure why they ever changed it.

        • The sad reality is that the only groups effected negatively by the flawless pool are people doing carries and average players. Good players will go flawless multiple times even in the flawless pool. When the bottom drops out the middle suffers not the top.

          • And how exactly would this increase the population? So all the average players get their flawless, then what. They stop playing because they don't want to go against other flawless players, which leads to the flawless pool consuming itself which is what happened to trials before this season. What you're suggesting would show a large player pool on friday, and a smaller player pool sunday/monday. What we have this weekend could be a good middle ground but we won't know until the end of the weekend, and the labs stuff is going to skew that data anyway because so many people hate the mode and are leaving early because of it. Having a flawless pool the second trials goes live will just put trials back to the way it was last season, the people who are only in it for 1 flawless and leave are not the people who would be continuing to play trials throughout the weekend making the flawless pool impossible except for the best of the best. That's not how you grow a player population, nor is it how to encourage player retention.

            • The change you are asking for isnt really a good thing for the average player either. Its a good thing for the below average player (aka another minority) So in fact...they dont cater to a minority. As an average player i dont wanna have to tryhard after getting my 1st flawless. And getting a flawless when we had no flawless matchmaking was easy af. Those "tryhards", this minority that some player here pretend to face every match (wich is impossible since top players are a minority by design) werent redeting their cards in the first week after 7 wins.

            • you are out of touch with reality. the average player benefits from a regular pool of players not just sweats and pros. the flawless pool caters to the minority. also this dumb argument low skill players keep throwing out with the "match people of their own skill level" makes no sense. have you heard of comp? the 24/7 playlist?

              • Enable flawless permanently. This will cater for hard-core to play in their Poole every week. It will also allow the scrub minority to learn and git gud until they hit the flawless rank where they can decide if they want one and done or keep improving against sweat lords. If you have been flawless in last week then you start in flawless pool immediately this week. You only get out of the pool by not being flawless for a week. This gives am option to play with your scrub friends. How does that sound?🤷‍♂️

                • No one would go flawless until the last day. Instead they would just continue to reset their card at 6 wins, or take a loss on a 7 win card and farm the end of round loot. In my opinion, I don’t think there is a common ground solution for trials. I think bungie keeps pushing a little in both directions, because they know if they go to far one or the other they risk losing a huge chunk of the population.
