Imagine the community's shock when sunsetting happened because they asked for it themself in a roundabout way.

Oh trust, i've been saying for years that the biggest mistakes Bungie has ever made have been listening to vocal members of this community. People say "they never listen" - but I believe they listen too much. I'm also the rare few that really enjoyed D1's excessively hardcore approach to the leveling system and gear, prior to the great PVP Cry Wars that created this split-sandbox balancing act. But again, I'm also just happy to play the game and see where it goes. When i'm not having fun, I take a break and come back to see what's new/different. Each their own and all, but I do believe some peeps here take this a bit too seriously and fail to recognize that their individual opinions are not the only ones.

What i meant was. People complaining that there is no reason to use new guns when the old guns are much better.. Then bungie sunsetted the game because of that... So people have a reason to use new guns.

Right, I remember the discussions on this board about BiS metas becoming too annoying/boring/toxic. Is sunsetting to avoid those items being used in light-enabled activities the only, or even best solution? Arguable, and many clearly think not ... but it was in efforts to appease community feedback.

Yup. Bungie listening to the community mostle end in a bad way.

It's like an artist standing in front of a crowd, drawing a landscape and crowd-sourcing what the features of the landscape should look like. By the end of it, like most improv & crowd-collaboration projects, it barely resembles a landscape at all.
