So decided to give harbinger a try... lol. Wow...
So, I'm I'm new player that's started a month from the end of season of the chosen. Been powering through a bunch of stuff lately (1340 light level, have solid stats, decent loadouts) and I decide to go for hawkmoon because, sure, why not? Just finished solo flawless presage, so I'll attempt this solo.
What in the actual phk?
Seriously.
Why the hell would ANYBODY subject themselves to this nonsense?
It's utterly awful.
The final "boss fight". Cabal?
2 chaos reaches, 7x 1000 voices shots and 70+ arc fusion rifle rounds (main ingredient..sure and yes not vorpal spec, but with taken spec it should do some damage)
I die before the one cabal taken boss dies. I'm incessantly out of ammo with scavenger on.

Seriously? There's difficulty, then there being an obnoxious -blam!-. How is this an enjoyable experience for anybody?
I have been in grand master strikes that are a quarter as difficult as this nonsense. Why? Why is that a thing that is a thing?
Just utterly baffled. I have been at this for 5 or so hours now, going nowhere. Done with it for the day, maybe after I spend 6 months afk thralllway farming and I'm light level 3350 I will be high enough to kill one of these bosses.
I'm not mad, like I decided to farm this, presage was hard till I got it done. The first fight big fight was chaotic and enjoyable.. almost wiped a few times but I was able to figure it out and get it going.
This? I just can not comprehend why?.. like just why?
Why? Who and why? Why was bungie so mad at the players of this game? What could you guys have ever possibly done to deserve "harbinger" as a REPLAYABLE mission that drops a random roll exotic?
Cuz yall got to be absolutely terrible people to deserve this.

Lol I was trying to solo this myself yesterday. And damn that boss fight is bullshit. I gave up after an hour.

Yeah, run that sucker next week. I have over 60 runs with the vast majority being solo runs. Still haven't completed a solo run for this week's boss.

I managed to do it solo but took me around 3 hours to find the best strategy

I agree. Harbinger has always sucked. I had like 30 Hawkmoons and honestly the slightly variable perks don't affect much.

1 ReplyDon't do it week 3 of the rotation. Wait until next week, or week 2 is actually the easiest. If you do insist on doing it this week, you should really change your strategy a bit at the boss. Focus on the right side centurion first because he will move to the back where he is less annoying once you chunk his damage. Once he is back, focus on the left side centurion. He will move to the front once you damage him a bit. Then just chip away at both of them. Whatever you do, DO NOT just burst kill one of them. Make sure they are both nearly dead before killing one so you can kill both quickly. As soon as you kill one, the enemy spawns intensify with no break between when you kill ads to the next group spawning. You will make it 100x harder on yourself if you burn through one boss because of this.

It’s on a 3 weekly boss Rotation. Yes this weeks can be annoying This is still an awesome mission. Opinions may vary. And that’s OK!

4 RepliesDid you also complain on here after your first presage? Its almost the same difficulty as Presage so you are most likely doing it wrong if you think it’s as challenging as you say.

The boss changes weekly. I did it easily with two fingers up my bum

2 RepliesYou don't have to do everything solo? If you can solo everything what fun do others have with a Full squad when it is that easy. Or we need scaling based on the amount of players in your fire team, otherwise it will be waaaaay to easy.

When it’s the double centurion boss literally don’t even try, almost impossible to solo in my experience. Either LFG a group or wait till next week when it’s one of the easier bosses.

Unfortunately, you got one of the most ignorant pair of ahole bosses in Harbringer. The week with the single Fire Breathing Knight is about the "easiest" one to do. I solo'd it (once) without dying on my Titan using Anarchy for the Unstoppables in the round room and then Anarchy afterwards. I "think" the rotation goes Knight, Captain, then 2 Cabal - so next week should be the Knight.

Anarchy was great for those 2 it took a while but was able to solo flawless them

FWIW, we always get a post like this when this boss is up in rotation. It was tricky enough two-manning it with a friend, solo would be painful. You arent the first to fall afoul of this, you wont be the last 😂
