So. I just finished Shadowkeep.
WOW. Underwhelming ending, for sure, but MAN the inside of the Pyramid was scary, dudes. Like...whoa. And Ghost being possessed and all...*shivers.*
Okay, spoilers ahead.
What in the world happened at the end, with our "Guardian" being like "We're your salvation." (Btw, and Awoken Guardian saying that looked like the Joker imo) But they sounded uber evil.
Yet...they give us Stasis, no? So...maybe they ARE our salvation? From what?
...the Traveler?
I was sorta surprised how much I enjoyed Shadowkeep. Yeah, the Nightmare missions were a little repetitive, but I found that I'm exploring the Moon a lot more now.
Thoughts?

3 RepliesShadowkeep had an incredible campaign! First time in ages Destiny had its scary space feel in ages. Playing through the shadowkeep missions for the first time had so many scenes where I had to pause, or step back in awe. The pyramid was INSANE! I still stop and admire its sheer size. The dead floating guardians were the biggest recoil for me though. It was so sombering to see the thousands of guardians lost during the first moon siege and to hear them all calling out in terror was alot to deal with too. The missions themselves were some top tier destiny mission imo and I loved that we do an offshoot mission series to rid Eris of her traumas, solidify our solidarity with each other, and even save Omar!

2 RepliesI disliked Shadowkeep so much when it launched that I stopped playing Destiny for about 5 months. The moon as a destination stopped being interesting by year 2 in D1. it felt like a massive step backwards after Forsaken.

1 ReplyShadowkeep has one of the BEST opening missions of any Destiny expansion. That moment that you turn the corner in the Hellmouth and see
The Pyramid?
Frickin. Terrifying. And- from what I’ve been told- SUPER unexpected.

Shadowkeep was my favorite period in D2. The campaign, the tire game, feeding the rabbits, return to the moon, and the Vex Offensive were very enjoyable. Every time I visit the moon I am reminded of how much fun that I had back then. Also, a nice feature is that I can quickly place a raid banner at the entry point near Eris Morn and refill all my weapons if there is no public event available immediately.

1 ReplySo a lot of people are saying the entity and the people talking through your ghost, or through the cutscene are the same. I wouldn’t agree. Sure certain characters say they are but this is a world that employs a lot of unreliable narrators. My major reason for believing this is a major difference. The beings talking to us through say “we are your salvation” whereas the entity/winnower says “my man Oryx” this is very well articulated in the eldritch theory (a 4 part series on YouTube) if you watch it be warned I don’t think everything in there is accurate but it’s still pretty good

3 RepliesEr, hard to have spoilers for two year old content there mate-potate! :p The Salvation dialogue hasn't been resolved in game yet but bare in mind we began our "discussions" with the Darkness over that year, ending with the arrival of the Black fleet. It's interesting to note that Eramis' house was named "Salvation"...

4 Replies<Salvation, an interesting term that takes different meanings the deeper you dive into things. Initially, it likely means salvation from the Light. Think about it from the Winnower's perspective. The Gardener brought you back from death, robbed you. Now it forces you to fight for it. In a sense, it is salvation from Light. But that meaning differs sometimes. Upon first glance, taking into account their recent actions alone, you might think it means that they just want to sway us to their cause. But when you step back and realize what they've been doing in the background and truly grasp what it means for the Gardener and Winnower to be players in this universal game, you realize it's much darker than that. The Winnower, or the Entity, as people are now calling it because nobody's read Unveiling, including Mara and Calus, says it wants one perfect species to come on top. But that was when it was a moderator of the game. Now it's IN the game. It's a being like the Gardener is now. Salvation isn't just from Light, it's from life. That's the play. In the end, when only one species is left, the Winnower's drive for conflict will drive it to fight this last remaining species. They will lose and IT will take its place as the true Final Shape. The Vex once could've been the final shape, but Light and Dark exist as a barrier. They can no longer "win". Technically, the Winnower won't either because it's a game, but it's gonna be close. We're talking about one of the primordial Gods. As Savathun said:
Then look down at that little gun in your hand and tell me: what do you think you're going to do with that thing?
The only reason they haven't nuked us is because of the Wager. Once an answer is presented... it'll be war.>

It looked comical. It gave me “we don’t know where the stories going so we’ll be as ambivalent and cryptic as possible” vibes.

2 RepliesYour “guardian” is supposedly the “entity” talking to you taking your form. This supposed “entity”also spoke to Calus in his own voice.
