All:
I'm running an 8700k overclocked to 5GHz and a 2080Ti card at 1440p, running on a 1440p 165hz monitor.
Other games such as Call of Duty Warzone get 150+ fps at 1440p, but I can't seem to get higher than a consisten 90-100 fps in Destiny 2. If my CPU or GPU was pegged at 100% utilization I would understand, but I'm seeing around 60-65% utilization on my GPU and around 50-60% utilization on my CPU and I can't seem to exceed an average of around 100 fps.
I've tried lowering graphics settings, adjusting FOV from 85 down to 70, optimizing the game in the Nvidia Control Panel for Maximum Performance, and increasing the Destiny 2 Windows 10 process to the highest non-real time priority. Nothing measurably affects my fps.
Has anyone else run into this issue of lower GPU utilization paired with lower than expected FPS?

Dude. i have this exact problem with the same CPU. It's even worse at default clock speeds! Super weird. No difference in FPS going from watercooled 1080 GPU to a brand new 3080 either. There is something very weird going on here. Wish bungie could take a deeper look at this with i7 8700k

5 RepliesThis game doesn’t utilize overclocks very well honestly. I have a 8700k stock with a 1070ti and depending on the area it runs from 80-120 FPS. Fully water cooled loop too. Temps run at 50-58 and utilization hovers around 70-80.
