When I'm at work and open up stadia I always see locked content. Meanwhile, when I get home I have access to all the Content. Why can't our ownership for Content be attached to our Bungie.net accounts so we can play the same, how we want, where we please.
Pros
- Consumers don't have to re-purchase content on other platforms if already purchased
Cons
- Bungie doesn't make extra $ when Players have to repurchase content they've already paid for
(I don't want to re-purchase Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light for the 3rd time like most of us that migrated from console to Steam)
Make Destiny Revolve around Bungie, I've got more small topics to talk about involving this Website that can be improved. but I don't have the time nor the publicity to make it noticed quickly.
We think of "What if's" a lot. We all have opinions and thoughts. When sharing and collaborating with those ideas, They Grow. So Please, leave a response with your thoughts, even if they are negative.

TL;DR: Bungie is not responsible for how platforms license content to users. To create their own platform and license to users directly would likely result in no longer being able to offer Destiny on consoles. If you want change, petition Sony, Microsoft, Google, and Valve.
The base game and DLC content is licensed to players by the platform you buy them from (or subscribe to), not Bungie. Bungie is not a publisher + distributor and as such has no platform or systems for players to purchase any game licenses directly from Bungie. Making themselves a platform for players to buy and access their games across devices would be a HUGE undertaking requiring more resources that would likely take years. To get a less limited license that works across all console and PC platforms where they are currently offered, would require each of those platform providers to settle on an agreement to share profits. Even if Bungie advocates hard for us, there is no guarantee that any of them would agree to it. Conversely, if Bungie were to create their own platform, you'd have to play through their platform, which would most likely only exist for Windows PC, forcing most players to not only rebuy, but also defeat the purpose of playing wherever we want to play. They couldn't provide players with a license to DLC content on Playstation, Xbox, Stadia, or Steam unless, again, those platforms entered into an agreement to share licensing.

1 ReplyI agree. Bungie already has alot of my money. And I've been playing since D1 beta. and have purchased duplicate copies of d1 and d2 and all expansions on both xbox playstation and PC. And today, bungie told me eh, we don't really care. I'm all for supporting them, it's just really sad how bad their customer service is. They don't take the time to read and just send an automated reply and close the ticket. I came back to the game, bought all the stuff I was missing, brought my boyfriend on as a player as well, he got all the expansions, I make a mistake and they treat me like -blam!-.

It’s not up to Bungie. Steam, Microsoft, and Sony all want their cut of the content if you are going to play it in their system. That’s how the business works and that’s how it’s always worked.

1 ReplyThe want of money always outshines the want of the users for a company

Understood. Making changes so that it requires repurchase of expansions after each log out to regain access to that content after each log in - Bungie
