Is anyone else great at Gambit but horrible in the Crucible? I lose like 2 out of every 3 matches in crucible and have a kd of around 0.7 but for some reason i find Gambit really easy. Are the people who play gambit just worse on average?

Average Crucible player (0.9 kd) but a Dredgen and a diamond level Gambit player when I play regularly. In short, the pvp in Crucible vs Gambit are different (which is why many Crucibe sweat lords hate Gambit) Crucible pvp is balanced around individual duels or small team engagements with PRIMARY WEAPONS. Like a typical arena shooter. So he who has the most guns or the fastest nervous system usually wins. Gambit is more like the open world pvp you see in MMOs and RPGs. It isn’t a contest of shooting skill. It’s a contest of build-strength and adaptability. So pvp in Gambit is fast, nasty, and unbalanced. If you’re in a “fair” fight? You’re either doing it wrong, or aren’t playing to win. So an invader is going to come at you with the fastest-killing means at his disposal. Usually either a heavy weapon or a super. His goal is to put you down and move on to someone else, before he gets teamshot himself. So pvp in Gambit is more about outthinking your opponents instead of out gunning them with twitch speed. The invader who make smart use of cover and can avoid detection until he finally strikes? Will creat a lot of salty tears in a Gambit match. A point many Crucible players don’t get because many can rely on their fast reaction times to avoid primary fire. But that is far less effective in Gambit when someone hits you from the other side of the map because you went dashing across it out in the open.

I will honestly admit that I enjoy Gambit more than Crucible and I believe as a result try to perform at a higher level in Gambit. Because I am not a Crucible fan, I just kinda go along for the ride and expect to get trounced.
