Xim is trash. It doesnt function like pc mnk. So not as good as that. Also if you already have muscle memor on controller it ruins that. Youre probably being dominated by someone on controller.

11 RepliesThe xims/Kronos users can't be stopped by bungie they have to be stopped by the creator of the platform( Sony or Microsoft ) because it's a piece of hardware

3 RepliesThe elephant in the room for console gamers. It’s disgusting that Sony and Microsoft readily allow these cheating systems to be produced for their platforms. Nothing will be done, though, until it starts costing them money in sales. It staggers me how little they seem to care about the integrity of the gaming experience on their consoles.

Just played three people instantly pulling 180 turns. Glad this is a thing.

23 RepliesEdited by MysticTR1: 9/15/2021 10:38:15 PMDid a 1vs1 today against a xim user, wasted me on crimson. Tested side by side his crimson fires faster…not because of manipulation but because a good mouse click through xim shaves miliseconds off the time compared to a controller trigger squeaze. It doesn’t matter how good you are, a good xim m/k player will beat a controller 9 times out of ten. The only difference will be positioning to win those fights but if you think you will outgun and aim him forget it. You can eliminate recoil and makes burst fire guns absurdly deadly as nearly every bullet lands as a crit. They can also be programmed to full auto, hold button down, win! It’s cheating otherwise Bungie would just allow m/k support on console lol

10 RepliesThe fact this post exists and people agree with it just goes to show how many people have no idea how these things work. And yet people claim they're "rampant" in PvP.
-
7 RepliesIt's amusing you guys throw such fits about someone having a cheesy aiming advantage via using a xim but think nothing of cheesing people on pc constantly with controller aim assist on weapons like last word n sniper.
-
12 RepliesHear me out: Ban controller on PC. Their sniping aim assist is nearly cheating.

Pick your flavor of the day. You either get beat by players who have almost none stop played the game like it’s there job. Or you get cheaters and hackers that want to even up the playing field by doing what is necessary to either win or obtain gear that is locked behind pvp modes or insane quests that constantly force players to play pvp. So those are your two options.
what it said after the spoil is what is normally said or has been normally said through out destiny life span. If you didn’t know now you know.
The third option of someone saying get good (git gud) or some arbitrary saying of I’m better then you or you suck is not an option. Because you can’t get better when you can’t play at all. Your not better than someone else because the game does most the work for you. An telling someone you suck. Really? Is this elementary school or something.

Not everyone that performs well in PvP is using a 3rd party peripheral like Cronus or Xim. Even if they were, so what? They're not receiving a massive advantage over others. I have one, suck at PvP with or without it. It won't vastly improve your PvP performance. Those dongles really shine in automating tasks than anything else. There is no need to be upset about this and rally others for a ban as a response, but people will vent on this forum nonetheless.

4 RepliesThat is Microsoft's/Sony's responsibility. XIM uses a hub that converts M&K inputs to controller inputs and therefore registers on the console as a controller. Bungie can't do anything about it because it can't be detected.
-
26 RepliesEdited by THE SARGE 01: 9/16/2021 4:14:29 AMYou may want to also make a post about scuffs, elite controllers, and anything that does not come with the box when you buy the console then (Red Bull, Coffee,Game Focus, opposable thumbs). I’m pretty sure there are a lot more things that provide some sort of advantage over a plain controller.

3 RepliesAt least on ps5, bungie can effectively ban xim by requiring dual sense controller to play (excluding the 3rd party old-gen controllers which have been used by xim users for their authentication). Popular games such as R6 siege, Fortnite, CoD:vanguard, B4B, etc. participated in this move on their ps5 version recently.

4 RepliesWhat are Xims? Is that a PC thing or somethingN

2 RepliesRemove console from game support. They just drag game performance and quality on PC.

13 RepliesEdited by Crota bin Oryx: 9/16/2021 7:31:57 AMI agree with you 100% but to be fair to everyone, PC players should be banned completely regardless becuase every mouse and keyboard on Windows supports macros on such deep level that it is impossible to detect them. I am xbox player but I have a keyboard developed at my old company which has its own micro OS on it (Linux flavoured). It is designed to test hacks and vulnerabilities in rack servers (you know the kind of USB things you see in Mission Impossible movies). This company I worked for provided transport level encryption for financial transactions so the testing team took physical security very seriously. Anyway, I digress. The Point is that this device is so sophisticated that it can be whatever you want it to be because its a f'ing OS on a keyboard. You will find similar devices on market and there are online tutorials to make your own using Pi and soldering iron. The point is that if someone had the knowledge, they could make this keyboard appear as a headset to my xbox 😂 Now, let's talk about Windows and Steam (although the concept is applicable to mac and Linux in general). A keyboard is Human Interface Device which is just a software layer on a hardware. Your keystrokes needs to be translated from electrical signals to fanci movement in the game. This is all done by software. Windows has this software built in the form of device driver which can be written by any vendor. So when you buy a Logitech mouse or a sidewinder keyboard they provide their own device driver. They also provide custom macro software like Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse center. Now, how does this affect games? Remember the Human Interface Device concept above? This is what Destiny sees. It can jaut see a keystroke coming in. The source of that keystroke can be from so deep in the OS level that there is no way for a game to detect a macro. All the game would see is that the signal came from a keyboard or mouse. This makes pc gamers map anything on any button beyond the game mapping. Real world example, Bunny Hopping in Fortnite... even scrubs can do it and Epic is unable to detect it. Epic spends more on anti cheat than Bungie spends on Eververse. So, xim is bad and cheating is bad but let's be fair to everyone. Finally, EA and Epic could not ban xim becuase there is no evidence to detect it reliably. You know why? Becuar xim is made on licensed hardware by Sony and Microsoft 😉 As far as the game is concerned, its as good as a 3rd party controller verified by licensed hardware manufacturer. If you play flight simulator games, you will know what this means. Basically, it's like a 3rd party licensed joystick appearing as a generic joystick. 🤷♂️ Although I agree with you but I would love to see how Bungie aolvwa this engineering challenge without crossing a line with MS and Sony.
-
Hate to tell you this, but Stadia players are in the console lobby and can use either controller or MnK
-
6 RepliesRequire an officially licensed controller and ban ALL 3rd party devices. This is what should be done but it wont.

Who cares.

There is nothing to be done

4 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 9/16/2021 12:59:20 AMI understand that XIM (as with some other 3rd party devices) was originally built for accessibility And there are many people using them, helping to access this great hobby we call gaming Much like this chap https://www.pcgamer.com/meet-rocky-nohands-the-paralyzed-pubg-streamer-who-kicks--blam!--using-only-his-mouth/ https://www.theloadout.com/call-of-duty-warzone/paralysed-streamer-rockynohands-luminosity https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/book/2019/9/rockynohands-the-disabled-fortnite-gamer-who-uses-a-mouth-operated-joystick-to But the sad fact is, many people are just using them to gain advantage (Much like company that altered Artificial Learning tech to be super accurate for FPS gaming) https://mspoweruser.com/user-vision-pro-has-been-shut-down-by-activision/ These technologies are being used by some to gain advantage, maybe 15-20% of the community are able bodied & use 3rd party tech to gain an advantage and are the scum of ANY online gaming community and will cheat or gain an advantage in any way they can It’s hardly good sporting etiquette to cheat at anything! But by cheating, they’re actually creating compatibility/usability issues for those that REALLY need this type of peripheral Sadly, the muppets that use devices such as XIM to gain advantage are also the ones that will wreck gaming for those that really need these peripherals It’s a tricky dilemma Edited: Bungie have censored a word in the link

3 RepliesI feel dumb, being a console only pleb for years, but what exactly is a xim?
-
12 RepliesWould you mind clarifying? As I understand such is just for whether you want to use KBM or Controller. Are there more nefarious uses possible with such hardware?

This might be only something console can do. It isn't just for m/k but it also helps gives controllers a helping hand. But I also made a post about this month's ago and nothing ever happen
