Bungie why do you have to tie catalysts to pvp kills.
It's redickulas that you tie getting catalysts to getting pvp kills. I hate pvp and never want to go into it. I'm not good at it as trying to get 50 kills with a weapon sucks. Make an alternative to having to get friggin pvp kills, why force people into a mode they don't like or play.....

Especially when they tie a catalyst to a weapon that is poor in PvP. Love D2. Do not love some of the sadistic grind BS.

1 ReplyWhile i agree with many of these posts, on both sides of the fence, i feel for ya op. And it would be great if it gave you a choice of activity, but they don't and there's a few catalysts that will stay locked on my account bc i refuse to go thru pvp to get it. And tho i would like having the catalyst, a lot of those weapons i wouldnt run with anyway. It sucks i cant collect them but it is what it is and i can do without.

If they didn't atleast pretend that PvP was apart of the game they would lose a huge chunk of the player base -
2 RepliesLet the players pick how to finish a catalist . If the player picks Vanguard to finish a catalist make it 500 kills , Gambit 350 kills Guardians kills count as 2 , Crucible 50 kills . This is just my opinion not everyone's . Have a great day everyone .

I used to play PvP in this game and then played other FPS PvP games, I no longer play D2 PvP. Now anytime there is a weapon with a catalyst that requires D2 PvP participation, I delete it and don't look back.

They know that cbmm pushed away players and need a way to artificial push pvp numbers.

They don't "have to". They choose to. People have asked them to stop and they won't. In general it is my experience that any time destiny has given you a choice of pve or pvp completion inevitably the pve is the worse option. I have feelings about the way games like this are designed but my feelings don't really change the side of the argument bungie it's determined to stand on. So. I guess all I can say is if there is something frustrating you in the game and you ask "why"... it's because bungie made a deliberate choice for it to be that way. For instance I've been arguing for 7 years that hunters should be able to hold the grenade button on certain grenades to cook them down or else hold the grenade button while sprinting and release to drop a grenade at your feet without breaking sprint, which would be great for scenarios where you're being pursued. (I was responsible for getting my raid teams through the pit in the crota raid, being chased by a hoard of screaming thrall makes you think). Also useful in pvp. I mean. Think of the scene where Cayde died. Did he throw his trip mine across the map? Nah he jammed it into a wall while passing and let his pursuers blunder into it. The other main classes have hold functions on some grenades, just seems fair. But bungie doesn't do this so I have to assume it's intentional

If you don't want to play 100% of the game don't ever expect 100% of the reward. It's that simple. Pick and choose which loot you want based off what activities you're willing to play. Ez.

Wait till momentum control is in the crucible Playlist. Put on a linear fusion rifle mod, aim in enemies general direction and profit.(the targeting gets really broken with the mod to the point of being OP). With the season pass level 22 catalyst boost omega its is only 13 kills per step (it needs to be done twice if I recall correctly).

I finally got the Jade Rabbit catalyst to drop after years and years. Dropped from winning a Trials match.
