This isnt an buff other things to its level post. This isnt an nerf Vex because its so strong post.
Vex is good within its intended range, but its not the best either. Vex has a .83 ttk with all crits. Slightly faster then a 140 hand cannon. However, .83 is actually pretty slow. Those 720 autos from last season have a ttk of .77, thats not counting kill clip. All SMG kill faster, 600s have a .80 not much difference but still. 720s and 900s have a .67 ttk. High impact pulses (Messenger mostly) .67 without Desperado.
Put down your hand cannon and use a different weapon.
Edit: It was brought to my attention Vex is a 390rpm now. Which means it has a ttk value of .77. Meaning it kills slightly faster then the 600 smgs.
Edit2: Remember auto rifle buff awhile back? Hard Light meta? Autos where stronger then Vex. The Recluse meta? Recluse killed way faster. Old Not Forgotten killed faster. Vex isnt as strong as people think.

The main problem with vex is it's body shot damage in PvP. Just lower the body shot damage and leave the precision damage alone. If possible

2 RepliesIt is op because it's a fusion that acts like an auto and a liner fusion rifle that uses primary ammo with no downside. Fighting lion uses primary ammo and is one of the weakest grenade launchers. It isn't bad and still can put in work but it has a downside. Vex can do it all while using primary ammo not to mention the season mods that push it even further into op territory. We have this season for 6 months so yes something needs to be done about vex. Its oppressive in its current form. It needs to be nerfed heavily in pvp or switched to special ammo. Imho having 1 full mag to start is more than fair.

1 ReplyFACTS!!!! im tired of the pvp crybabies never ending whining every single time a weapon is "good" in crucible. I hate to use the "GIT GUD" moniker but Vex is exactly that. its a "GIT GUD" counter weapon. it can be beaten by many weapons in the new sandbox and I have had no issue dueling it with multiple weapons my favorite is trustee with high impact reserves ive never lost a gunfight straight up against a vex that wasn't my own fault. If your running in the open with no map awareness of course you are going to get mopped...The point of good weapons is to encourage you to want that weapon and go earn it not come to forums and twitter to blast Bungie for nerfs like the PVP crybabies love to do......

Vex get melted against pulse But people's just want to use HC/shotgun combo.... It's funny to see them cries when there is obvious way to get around it Also i love how mine of them understand what make the gun good...they all think it's vex itself but what really good about it it's is catalyst

1 ReplyMythoclast has an aim assist of 100.
-
4 RepliesVex on its own is not the problem. It's when it kills someone and gets a damage buff that it becomes a problem. It's power alone is already fantastic, there's no reason for there to be such a significant increase in damage that no other primary can defeat it. That's my view on it. If anything I'm proud of bungie for the buff, but it needs a tweak.

11 RepliesI find it reallllllly -blam!- curious that the only people defending it, are the ones who have it.

TTK isn’t the only thing to consider when balancing a weapon. Sidearms have very fast TTK but have a shorter range, for example. Mytho has a huge range, a TTK of .77 seconds, and an alternate fire mode which makes it a linear fusion. It both outshoots scouts at long distances and HCs at close distances in its normal fire mode. I’m not saying it needs to be ruined, I’m not even necessarily advocating a nerf but I will absolutely call BS when someone is being disingenuous regarding its utility and power. It is currently overturned. No two ways about it.

Vex is as op as it should be. It’s vex, it’s a raid drop, people wanted it buffed. Plus, they made a lot of other buffs in the game so you complainers should really start putting builds together, and learn how to play the game. LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

2 RepliesEdited by michael: 9/15/2021 5:18:33 AMCan we stop acting like optimal TTK tested in a vacuum is the end all be all or PvP balance? It plays a role, but ease of use is way more relevant. Yes, high impact pulses have a faster time to kill than vex. So why is it that you never see high impact pulses in PvP, but see vex so often? Because achieving that optimal TTK with a high impact pulse is not easy. pulses, such as messenger, no time to explain, and vigilance wing handle extremely slowly and are just awkward to use; because of the slow fire rate, any little amount of flinch will quickly bring that ideally very quick TTK up to one of the longest of any archetype in the game. 720 autos are easier to use than a pulse, but are in a similar situation. A bullet hose gun like that, with the archetype-wide minimal range and poor stability, is just not competitive even though the TTK would indicate that it is. What does vex have? -A 390 rpm auto rifle with the range of a 360, which is best in class for auto rifles -Significantly more stability than a 360 auto rifle, a department that this archetype normally struggles a lot in which is arguably why they are so underused -Stability and damage which ramp up with kills to make it even better -The archetype is in a well-balanced spot between rate of fire and damage. It isn't a bullet hose that is hard to hit enough shots with, like a 720, but it also isn't a clunky and awkward 360 pulse where missing a shot screws up your kill speed completely. Vex feels light weight, is very easy to aim with, has incredible range, and kills fast. This is without even mentioning the stability and damage buffs with overcharge, or the linear fusion mode which is basically just arbalest all over again. I'm not trying to sound like Im whining. Vex really does not bother me that much. Im just so tired of people acting like TTK is the only factor in making a gun good... you can not judge a gun by an excel spreadsheet

1 ReplyVex is a special and a primary weapon mixed into one. It also has 100 aim assist whether you're on KBM or controller in or not in its linear fusion mode. You can completely miss the head by like 10cm and still get the headshot, same with lorentz or arbalest. My biggest issue with vex however which I see no one talk about is the sheer amount of flinch it gives off to snipers. I play alot of sniping and the flinch is just insane. I can snipe through most flinch in this game but vex is the hardest flinch for me to snipe through.

3 RepliesEdited by EARWAK3R: 9/14/2021 2:37:06 PMHow many times has bungie over buffed a ton of guns in the lead up to selling a new dlc? Vex is intentionaly busted to draw us in. Enjoy it whilst you can. After theyve got everyones witchqueen money, they will undo everything they did this season. Its Bungie 101.

3 Repliesshatterdive is similar, mostly everyone was fine with it until this weekend. Suddenly the forum is filled with people crying about it.
-
1 ReplyWe have been stuck in a hand cannon meta so long that those hand cannon users can’t adjust to anything else so when they die they complain.
-
3 RepliesMythoclast was overtuned with its RPM change. The impact wasn't adjusted to match the new rate of fire, effectively beating every single High impact AR. Even False Promises, which can reach up to 40m, cant duel it because of that one oversight.
-
U listed a ton of stuff that got nerfed at the bottom Not helping your point. Nerf the aim assist on the vex mythoclast
-
you named 3 things that were brokenly overpowered and got rightfully nerfed, while comparing them to vex. that should say just about everything

Edited by Synphol: 9/15/2021 1:42:04 AMI think Vex is fine where it stands in PvP. I don't have it and did fine in solo Trials because the map was against it for the most part. Was rocking Shayura/Hoard for corner control. DMT beats it in open lane maps. It really comes down to positioning and not running in blind
-
4 RepliesIf it’s not that good, why is it the most used weapon in trials by far.
-
Fine have xur sell it this week then we'll see how you feel.

48 RepliesEdited by DuBChiri2: 9/13/2021 9:33:34 PMYou are spreading misinformation. Vex is a 390 NOT a 360. That's a .77 ttk on a nearly 30 meter range auto rifle. It does roughly 35 per crit and 22 body. 35 x 5 is 175 + 22 = 197. So 5 crit and 1 body. 60÷390 = 0.1538 x(6-1) ~ .769 ttk. Revert it's rpm then it will be fine because it's currently better than EVERY single auto rifle...for no actual reason. That's the literal only nerf it needs. Google the mercules ttk spreadsheet, typically they are speedy with the numbers. Nerfed my shitty attitude.

4 RepliesI saw A LOT of Le Monarque this last weekend and was actually surprised I don't see anyone complaining about it lol.
