All we get is cloth wrapped around arms, body, legs or jackets/vests and armor with flat plating of armor with a small pattern somewhere you can’t see it in game. A hoodie as a cloak😴.

The Thorn armor for th anniv is very D1 like And for those saying it's nostalgia, compare D1 Iron Banner Gear to D2 Iron Banner Gear ...I rest my case
-
I just want titan Spektar back. Don't even care about the chroma part, though getting that back too would be nice.
-
17 RepliesMost of D1 armor looked just as crappy. And with worse graphics. Thankfully what your character looks like doesn’t effect anything and 90% of the game you dont even see what they look like.
-
1 ReplyThe thorn set from the anniversary pack looks like D1 style god tier armor. Obviously it’s locked behind a massive paywall. That goes to show they not only know what we want, but they can create it.
-
Hmm. More balls on your head then? You got it!

Edited by AC-130, Kell of Above: 9/9/2021 7:59:45 PMBack in D1, Bungie’s armor designers were incredibly talented. Each set had a unique theme to suite everyone’s tastes. Many people loved the godly looking armor that you could obtain from raids such as King’s Fall and Crota’s End, but personally I was a fan of the sci-fi frontier/space cowboy look. In Destiny 2, I feel like the quality of the armor design died. Most of the armor in the game currently isn’t very detailed, and has a very particular fantasy-like theme. I’m not asking Bungie to just recycle old armor sets because I like them, I just want them to put more effort into armor designing so we can get new armor sets that are just as awesome as the D1 sets.
-
24 RepliesAgain with the nostalgia.... D1 had terrible overall armour look... But everyone remember the ornament set for raids,IB and trials.... Normal armour were bad...and if you didn't raid you looked horrible
-
It’s funny how so many of you have been so consumed by nostalgia. You all have complained about armor looks since 2014.
-
I just miss the flashy class items from the Speaker. Bring back my vibrant long cloaks 🥺
-
2 RepliesI firmly believe that eventually every single thing people complained about in D1 will eventually be something people say D2 should have.

Edited by Freak: 9/8/2021 5:22:32 PMThat Bungie no longer exists. It’s a Different crew now. And I’m not trying to take up for Bungie but with the Pandemic, Engine Updates, Crossplay UI changes, Next Gen Upgrades Anti-Cheat/ Ddos protection it’s amazing we’ve gotten what we’ve gotten. Plus with all those changes, we’re seeing more bugs BUT we are also seeing Fixes much faster now. It used to take months for them to fix anything. Now it takes days. The problem has been Bungies communication on what’s been happening behind the scenes. They should have told us Hey guys we’re having to slim down on certain things for the betterment of the game Longterm. We will see dividends from what they’ve done. Some very subtle. Like quicker server side bug fixes but other we’ll see glaringly. Just Later. I’m hoping Witch Queen is that glaring part. Yes the Armor has been lacking. As has other things like Crucible Maps and Modes. But hopefully now that all the Back end stuff is done they can get back to amazing looking gear like we used to have.

You would think they would use things that D1 did right in their own SEQUEL called D2..
-
The original folks who made those armors are probably long-gone. They’ve been replaced by the B-Team. Like everyone else working on D2.
-
I think my hunter looks cool, you just got to be creative with what you got.
-
2 RepliesBro d1 armor outside of a few sets were basically all reskins of a the same set.
-
2 RepliesDestiny is like people. When you’re young - you wear fancy expensive hot looking stuff to get a lot of attention. As you get old and fat you wrap a $20 XXXL hoodie around your fatness . . . and call it good 👍
-
Agreed, but I think this season's activity and ornament armor look pretty good though
-
Apparently all the talent left with vicarious visions
-
Edited by Davie4: 9/8/2021 5:49:43 PMIt’s the themes of the armors that suck. The designers seem to do well at the theme they are told to make so to me it seems whoever comes up with the themes is making stuff people don’t really want. Most of the popular stuff I’ve seen people praise tend to be enemy themed armor or armor that matches theme of what you are doing better. Like the armor for shadowkeep was themed for like astronaut, but most would agree hive/nightmare themed would have been better.

In Destiny we live in an age of technology and fantasy, We have incredible weapons, powers, and exotic gear...Yet the legendary gear sets we've been getting the past four seasons have been terrible in my opinion in regards to my statement. I'd love to see some futuristic Sci-Fi armor sets in the upcoming future, For example, the Nanosuit from Crysis, but enriched with SIVA with a nanite glow.
-
The titan marks are horrific I want a battle scarred theme for titan but the marks all have these massive belts that ruins the looks Happier with hunter and warlock
-
1 ReplyMinus the raid armor D1 stuff wasn’t all that great
-
I don’t remember many good looking sets from D1 tbh. There was a swampy camo set at the end that I liked, that’s about it. Granted I don’t raid and focused mostly on hunter. The last D1 iron banner sets were decently unique, but weren’t really my kinda taste. Most of the regular stuff was terribly basic. D2s slight graphics update helped a lot of sets. Though admittedly you need to frequently delve into Eververse to get good pieces.
-
1 ReplySo far the only godly looking armor I’ve seen was the warlock Celestial armor set. Granted it’s ornaments. But it looks amazing.
-
The ROI armor with the ornaments on it with the fire was awesome. The raid armor with ornaments were nice too. And the taken armor.
-
16 RepliesName one set of “godlike” D1 armor that isn’t any of the Triumph ornaments lmao.
