I put down shotguns a while ago. Got sick of the ape or be aped play strat. Anymore I use a sidearm as a secondary, occasionally a fusion rifle. Got a decent PvP oriented Fractethyst to drop last night and figured I’d give it a try and see what this slide/shotgun nerf was about (cos it certainly didn’t seem different). Takeaway - it’s almost exactly the same as pre nerf. There were a few kills that had to be cleaned up with a melee, but mostly, sliding into the engagement with a shotgun pretty much guarantees you the kill. What I don’t get is how people think it’s fun or skillful. At least a fusion rifle has charge time that you have to adapt around. It’s so much more satisfying shutting down a rusher with Fools Remedy or Travelers Chosen and knowing I had to work to maintain the gap and actually track my target vs point, click, profit. Pea brained unga bunga caveman -blam!-.
