@All Why are you so aggressive, people?
Bungie are trying to help with solution, im sure in that. Just chill and w8 for the updates.
Also please dont forget that covid lockdowns are bringing us to the second reason that most of developers nowdays are working online 1st time in their lives.
People who didnt worked online as freelancer or etc., just cant imagine that it is very easy to forget the borders and just continuously keep working until full exhaustion.
And ofc any one can do mistake. Any one. But I also do believe that this problem is more related to battle eye functionality neither the Destiny 2 / Bungie network direct compatibility with windows 7 itslef. Technicly saying, Bungie do support win7 os platform, but that is batteeye major problem, not our dear develoeprs. And as i see, Battleye just do upgrades their thin micro software recursively, so basicly saying no one could predict this problem in time. AS you cant run battleeye soft if its runing version is not supported by their servers. Only these players that mentioned same problem in other games could see that problem is coming from battle eye. So please again, stop saying bad words about these mighty heroes that brought us the LIGHT!
P.S.: im also from Russia, and i tryed to fix this problem to my girlfriend is win7, im win10,. i tryed to copypast beye soft directly - that didnt helped. I also tryd to change OS signing to win 10, that also didnt helped. That means that you cant do anything about it yourself, im insure you. So dont download any third party soft that 100% wount help but hurt your home network security rly bad.
P.P.S: dont trust any one who sures you he fixed this problem himself,. that would be 100% lies. as again, battleeye updates recousivly. It check os version it check beye version and prevents deplying if not supported or else.
Also, dont forget that D2 servers are runing Beye anticheat policy active currently - that means if your battle eye will decide by some reason that you are trying to manipulate this softwere you can recive ban in no time. If that happens - Bungie team cant help you im sure. so Just chill
Peace.

What an amateur mistake! This bungie is a pathetic company! Should be sued for false advertising and close. And those who defend her are as pathetic as she is.

Lol what you are neglecting to acknowledge is one simple thing... This WHOLE problem could have easily been avoided if they literally took 30seconds to double click the D2 icon on the desktop of a win7/8/10 machine... they would have immediately realized something was wrong, especially considering this issue is 100% reproducible on literally EVERY SINGLE WIN7/8 PC... Also the fix is a hilariously tiny 105kb worth of 2 files, a simple emergency update to give us the 2 files so we can actually play the product we PAID FOR a year ago. Then they could have worked on the actual issue at hand which includes the 2fps cutscenes we win7/8 users have been experiencing, again, for a whole year... there's literally ZERO need to have cutscenes fixed when youtube and awesome content creators are a thing. A portion of the community being able to play the game is far more important then being able to watch 2 30sec cutscenes... even though those affected are a small portion of the community, a fix for us should have been #1 top priority above all else. I mean come on man... 2 files, 105kb in size combined is the solution and they have been dragging -blam!- for 2 weeks now... 2 files... thats it and we could all play and get wrecked by xbox/ps4 users and their insane aim assist... buuuuuut nooooooooo, they can't simply give us the required files asap... THAT is why we are all so pissed off, also seasonal armor ornaments are already on sale in eververse for bright dust... we are missing out on a TON and bungies whole mindset this past year has been about ways to reduce FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) and boy ooh boy are we missing out on a lot...

Edited by MigitMD: 9/5/2021 4:09:36 PMI read through all the comments in response to yours, and i can guarantee 1 thing is for sure: You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I can say that with 100% confidence. 1st- This is 100% Bungie's fault. Period. They did not test a supported OS. Their own 'tech blog' which they published 3 days after the failed update came down, explicitly mentions they only do 1 type of testing; simulation testing. Their definition of Simulation testing- is to put the software though an 'assert' scanner, ie, check marks. If the software has all the checkmarks, it will run. Guess what, it failed to launch across the entire windows 7 and 8 spectrum and i believe a good portion of the windows 10 spectrum. Prior to what's left of the comments, it was quite clear what happened- but bungie deleted all those comments to cover up their complete lack of proper testing. 2nd- Covid-19 is no longer an excuse for the following reasons: tv shows are now being filmed and recorded, lockdowns are no longer in effect (and even if some were still in lock downs, tv shows follow strict [abeitly useless] guidelines.) Businesses are open and flowing. And even if Covid 19 was still relevant, you don't need to be in the same room to transmit 105 Kilobytes of data to make the game function. it doesn't require inter office relations to install the software at home on a windows 7 computer and test if it runs. 3rd- Battleyes DOES run on Windows 7. I'm running the service right now. 4th- the fix provided days ago, did 100% work. I tested it, it functioned PERFECTLY. I launched the game, went to the tower, collected bounties, went to EDZ and killed Fallen. then quit the game. So, unless you can go back in time to the start if this entire problem and read every page of the 15 threads that were spawned become as knowledgeable about the situation as I and I believe two others are, you literally have no idea what you're talking about.

Edited by Shaytan: 9/5/2021 11:21:18 AMWell you have obviously not read Bungies response with regards to Battleye it was nothing to do with Battleye but something which they themselves had 'missed' with regards to the update. Not testing the update on all supported OS of which win7 is one and continues to be supported didn't help, this was evident in the 'fix' that the Russian guy found, and did actually work for alot of win 7 users. But you carry on and believe what you choose to a fix was found by one of their players and bungie suppressed it and on the same day announced that they had found a fix....odd that isn't it.Stop defending a bunch of quite obvious incompetent idiots who rather than support their community would rather suppress it. Are your lips brown from all that -blam!- kissing yet ?

P/S google translator English language since you are from Russia, I will write to you in an understandable language. there is a PUBG game in it, and there is also an anti-cheat battle eye, and you will not believe PUBG works, unlike destiny 2, the question arises that the game does not work not because of anti-cheat, but because of bungie jambs, this was one reason for indignation. the second reason: this is not the first time such a mistake and bungie does not learn from their mistakes, they do not fix what needs to be fixed but break what should not break, why the same last wish raid became broken and he is almost 3 years old, if not more and you really are not you understand the indignation of people. we bought a product, we paid for it, we have the right to claim what we spent money on. the third reason covid I apologize for not being a big insult you've been on the Internet for a long time and watched that almost all employees have long been working not remotely, an ideal example is the cinema industry that has long resumed work on the set, so covid is already outdated as an excuse, and don't forget that they had 3-4 months before the launch of the new season and I don't think that the workers who test the game were busy developing new content.

Clearly, you're just jealous the other Russian guy is smarter than you and embarrassed you in front of your girlfriend. Don't take it out on us that you can't keep her gaming needs satisfied. But then you're not actually one of the affected people. So kindly piss off about not being able to understand people who have been waiting 2 weeks for a fix to a bug that should never have made it to release, because of how easy it should have been to detect, if anyone had literally tried to run the game, to check it.

Edited by Clint Eastwood: 9/5/2021 8:15:03 AMone mroe thing. Two weeks for considering all good and bad sides off swapping software distributors, that are also aggressive market eaters, that keeps your own product as hostage - is not bad time planing at all. Just think about how many legal consultations they need before doing something like that? And all of it just for us. The Players. I pray, the light should fulfill all bungie activities. May the light be with them.

Man! If you asking me - i do belive that Microsoft is pushing people to win10 from win7, threw battle eye. Thats all the reasoning. Bungies are not responsible for this as nothing like this ever happened before. this battle eye were just upgrading as usual. Trust me. Its like pandora box. I think Bungie are considering about dropping battle eye and swapping it for something else. Remember how they dropped off blizzard? That's because Bungie are survivors that are going away from politics. That was smart move. Bungie are survivors, so most likely they will swap anti cheat software distributors or they will implement a new solution for w7 users. So just relax.

MS is pushing people to Win 10 by stopping support of Win 7 and eventually DX11. Battleye has nothing to do with it. That's been widely known for years now. A lot of new games don't even list Win 7 or 8 as supported OS anymore. But they do still work on Win 7 because DX11 also works on Win 10 and the older consoles that they also release their games on. No one is so delusional to claim Win 7 will be supported forever. However, while it is supported, we expect it to be actually supported.
MS is pushing people to Win 10 by stopping support of Win 7 and eventually DX11.
Actually, Windows 7 does support DirectX 12. Cyberpunk 2077 was released solely using DirectX 12, CD project red utilized the Windows 7 DirectX 12 API that was available, because Microsoft created the API because of the demand from world of warcraft users. So even if Bungie switched to exclusively DirectX 12, they'd have no excuse not to support Windows 7. I ran and beat Cyberpunk and I run Windows 7 ultimate.
