This is pathetic Bungie; you're removing comments because they reference the community developed fix, a fix to a problem you created because you didn't have the sense to properly test your product? Shame on you. A mature company would admit their mistake, advise those whom use any 'fixes' that it's their own risk and provide an official fix. I've been watching the development of this entire fiasco from day one; its sad how the conversation or lack of has devolved in censorship. Edit: 9/7/2021- So Bungie has decided to mute me on this topic- because I spoke the truth and they can't handle it anymore. People are starting to not handle your in ability to provide a simple fix, let alone an update. Seems to me, a $100 million company would be able to pick up the phone and make a few calls to their parent company and try to figure out how to ship 105 kilobytes worth of data down the pipeline so that all Windows 7 players could join in again. Heck, I've even seem comments indicating legal action. That becomes public knowledge...doesn't it? Edit: 9/8/2021- So Bungie has developed a 'fix' and are unsure when to deploy it. Considering that an entire user segment is unable to even launch the game, i'd say immediately after 'verification'. And i'm still prohibited from posting new comments. Pathetic and sad on their part. Edit: 9/9/2021-9/10/2021- its very shameful on Bungie's part that they allow a TROLL in the comments section [clint eastwood] (no, not the actual dude) but censor me because I spoke the truth and called them out on it. And likely no one will even read this comment again. such crap Bungie.

  • For every community fix I've seen in this discussion, there was at least one person saying it didn't work. If theres no fix in the discussion, theres no risk of anyone doing something wrong

  • The problem for you, is that I've SEEN the ENTIRE discussion across every thread- all 15 of them since the beginning of the problem. bungie has eliminated almost every trace of the dll fix discussion. I saw dozens stating that it worked 100%. But you won't ever see them because Bungie deleted the comments. tell me, how does bungie threatening their user base with bans if they utilize the fix- a fix to just get the game running, help their case?

I vouch for this, the dll patch did FIX the game hell I'm still on win 7 and I'm not having too much trouble running the game with a FPS limit of 45(still can drop to 20 in really bad PvP maps) YESTEDAY(12hr ago since post), just shame on bungie they could've just verify the patch then distribute it widely if it meet up to their "quality assurance". well a week late I'm having a hard time in Master NF and iron banner just because I'm missing the pinnacle grind and artifact power.

  •
I vouch for this, the dll patch did FIX the game hell I'm still on win 7
Then you are literally the only one. This means you have the api-ms-win-core-path files in the destiny2 launch folder? If not, you're not on Windows 7. Because without those two files in that folder for Windows 7, it will not launch. Period. So I have a question for you: where did you get the two required files, if you are indeed on Windows 7.

  • Ugh, I think i was confusing his post with another one I saw, who claimed Bungie's fix fixed his windows 7 machine. /sigh/ I know the russian's fix works... ugh this entire situation is really frustrating me. people are now jumping to Bungie's defense after they've deleted all the comments that exposed them.
