Hey folks. For those of you who would swap to Win 10 but are prevented due to the cost, you might try this option. I did it yesterday and it worked fine, still 100% free. The software for my RAID controller doesn't work anymore, but Destiny 2 does.
Just wanted you to know that you do have options, if the cost is your barrier.
I will not upgrade and lose all my files for a game. Might as well switch back to warframe,?eve or planetside before I do that.

You don't lose all your files with the change. My machine still has everything on it now that it had before (it's just that the RAID software doesn't work now). And if you don't want to swap, that's fine, that's your choice. I knew that I had things that wouldn't work under Win10, so I held off as long as I felt I could. I have seen several comments in these thread from people saying that the cost of buying Win10 is the thing that is keeping them from making the change. I was just pointing out that it doesn't necessarily need to cost any money.

I am in the same boat as some of the people above. Some of the software for my job uses drivers and external attachments that are not and never will be compatible with Win10. So until my office bothers to buy us new tech, I'm screwed. Eventually, I will be able to scrape together enough for a new machine for non-work applications, but not any time soon. So "supporting Win 7" matters a lot to me since I have already paid for it on the OS.
