Why do so many people in Iron Banner not know how to play the objective? No one helps capture zones, no one cares about protecting zones. I don't want to sound like a -blam!- here but I don't get how so many people don't know how to play the game. And it's not like these people are going for kills instead, they won't help cap zones and they end the game with three kills.

It’s just like regular Control that has become Clash. Bounties are about kills not capping zones or winning & the whole game of Destiny is now bounty-driven. The Iron Banana bounty for capping zones completes WAY faster than the bounties for kills, so people probably don’t care about the zones after a few games.
-
Like everybody else I’d say it’s Bounties get in get out. Maybe if Bungie changed the bounties to progress faster on how many zones you have that’d help.
-
People haven't known Iron Banner was control since the D1 Beta back in 2014, so to assume they'd know now, some 7 years later is pure insanity. Oh, and the connections have always sucked massive Avocados too. That's nothing new either. At least it's not Iron Banner Supremacy. Oofa, that was a horrible idea.
-
It's actually lockdown, which makes it worse.
-
Bounties my boi. Bounties. Gotta see them through.
-
Uuuhhhm acktually it’s lockdown 😤😤😤
-
People don't know control is control how they gonna know that Iron banana is control.

3 RepliesI find things like this comical. If you look on the forums, you find many posts about giving people a choice on how to complete quests. A PVP side OR a PVE side. On every one of those posts, you always have those saying you have to play both sides of the game if you want everything. On every one of those posts you have people saying they will not enter PVP for any reason. Its similar on IB. People don't want to play it. Let me say that again. People don't want to play it. Simple really. BUT, there are 4 pinnacles in IB. People do want to advance their light. Most PVE players that go into IB, want to get out A.S.A.P. They have no concern about objectives. They EXPECT that they are going to be stomped, so most don't even try. They concentrate on completing their bounties, and getting out. It makes absolutely no difference to them if you suffer because of it, because in their minds, they are forced to suffer to get their pinnacles. Its not going to change. Accept that until the people that don't want to be there, finish their bounties, you are going to get people that couldn't care less about playing the objective.

3 RepliesI have to get HC kills, which for me is the equivalent of a caveman explaining quantum entanglement in a way 5 year olds will understand. So I don’t give a f*** about zone capturing. I’m trying to use the weapon I hate the most in the whole game to kill people who simply refuse to stand still and let me shoot them like they do on YouTube and Twitch streamers matches.
-
The second you let go, just accept that the 5 rando's are going to do whatever they want, and to top it off Bungie is trying to force people into a 50/50 win loss ratio, it's a lot less frustrating. At least that's the point I'm at.
-
No capture the zone bounties, what’s the point.

13 RepliesEdited by Dray: 9/3/2021 12:49:59 PMThere's no way to get around this, firstly you have a quest that promotes weapon usage that will put poeple out of their comfort zone for how they play PVP and forces them to focus on klills not control, secondly there's 4 pinnacle rewards, which means you will have people focusing on those bounties primarily, while some may promote proper game play most don't, thirdly because there's 4 pinnacles you will get people who don't normally bother with PvP jumping in, and they don't really care for the most part beyond the pinnacle rewards, not all but most. It's not going to change or get better unless they rework how you get the pinnacle rewards, winning, participation etc, or they have a a PVE event running at the same time that rewards 4 pinnacles and if you claim those you can't claim the Iron Banner pinnacles. Reworking the rewards would be a better solution and a PVE event running along side would reduce the IB participation to where it might not be worth actually having it as an event as most players will opt for the path of least resistance.

Honestly its always been an issue and probably will never change.

3 Repliesand what are you trying to achieve by complaining about it

Edited by Geordwah: 9/3/2021 8:43:33 PMMatters not once you have enough for the bounties. Then you’re forced to faff with your ability/sidearm/power kills. Unfortunately you cannot play how you wish too, so sod it. No apologies to the rest of the team, blame bungie.
-
Well that doesn't mean anything when your team is being aniquilated... I mean i see them capturing zones but come on.. 0.3 kdr while the other team 14 kdr for example.

It's the same problem as with Crucible; there are bounties, quests, and other things that force PvE players to enter PvP areas in order to get a gun they're just going to use for PvE (like me). There's a ton of traffic from people that just want to get their PvP requirements out of the way and move on with their life, and it would be a lot easier for Bungie to just add a PvE option for hard PvP requirements Having a PvP requirement to earn guns or progress on a gun quest is annoying for PvE players just trying to knock out the quota. It's equally annoying for PvP players to farm PvE noobs like me (or for the PvP player to have a shitty team because it's full of people just trying to complete quotas)

3 RepliesThere problem is most XP comes from bounties and bounties rarely have anything to do with objectives so....
-
1 ReplyPeople just don't know how control actually works. The most effective way to get kills is defending zones. Once you have 2, establishing map control is fairly easy; but most people run out of position hunting for fights instead of setting up traps.
-
1 ReplyYou're assuming people know how to play Control in the first place. You can't convince me they do at all until players stop feeding the enemy team on the A to C lane on Midtown without ever stepping a foot into B.

" Give me a minute, I need to handle this. What do you think 'Capture the zones' means guardian? TELL ME! BECAUSE I DON'T THINK YOU GET IT! " -Lord Shaxx, slightly modified quote.
-
They know but they just don´t care...
-
2 RepliesI get the reason behind the post, but most people don't know control, they know 4 bounties and out.
-
Do they ever? Why is it that every time ib comes around we see this kind of post? They haven’t learned yet how to make public events heroic…

Edited by Correctivity: 9/3/2021 8:08:16 AMIt doesn't help that everyone is in there with their own objectives. Bounties, catalysts, stat farmers and more. People all have a different play style too. Some people want to push for the 3 x cap, others want to hold two zones and not push. It's also a valid strategy for your noob players to cap zones while the slayer guy pushes the other team back and earns points from the capped zones. But yeah, agreed, cap the damn zones lol

9 RepliesEdited by Prowler690: 9/2/2021 2:24:01 PMI watched a pair of blueberries actually run off a zone mid capture last night so I mopped it up not even under fire. Another I was capping and saw a pair of blue dots on my radar closing up behind, nice this will top off the cap for a hunt. I guess they spotted a dropped purse of something as they ran straight through the point, one even jumped over it as it as if it was hot. Even if people are just doing bounties is it not logical that winning a match every now and again is more efficient? There will sometimes be the K/D princess who tops a board with 40 kills and 0 caps who will swear blind it's helped the team, standing still and distracting a shooter can also be called helping the team. The score is better boosted by zone advantage, not the individuals trophy cabinet.
