Phoenix dive is far to slow, the new directional ability does absolutely nothing. It's not even useful on bottom tree as you can't float and shoot, it belongs on the top tree.
Now top tree has one dash because hunters cried so much, that should be a top tree option.
Heat rises is never going to be used by most people. You are to open in the air, with the likes of Lorentz which is OP, you are just a target.

4 RepliesYup and top tree feels terrible now, guess they really want everyone to be a stasis hunter… game gets worse and worse every year without daddy activision

8 RepliesYou’re just gonna irresponsibility blame hunters for your icarus dash? Oh sweet sally and her creamed corn.... I’m a Hunter main, I didn’t complain. I paid attention quite carefully and it wasn’t just the hunters complaining. Kinda convenient to omit that from your data or evidence unless you’re choosing to have a bias. Spread some of that blame onto the streamers who completely exploited the map and sniping while using that subclass, especially in trials. There are plenty of hunters on this forum who defend warlocks and felt their nerfs weren’t warranted. That being said, Phoenix dive sucks, it’s one of the worst skills and should be made useful. Also the fact that TTDB has only one dodge now, is BS. I felt that subclass was just fine.....and I’m a Hunter. So.....lol.

Edited by Harrowed Chaos: 9/4/2021 1:30:10 PMI don’t know why but the speed of the animation and decent feel so much slower compared to Shatterdive. I don’t know if this is factual, but it just feels that way. Top Tree is still fine. One dash is still enough, and it was obnoxious playing against Top Tree players since it was just a race to mid. If you weren’t a Warlock on Top Tree, you weren’t beating or even competing against that Warlock. Heat Rises is also fine. If anything, it got buffed for snipers and team players. 5+ more seconds of airtime or 15 seconds of an obnoxious red circle that you’ll will guarantee the en my will keep track of. My only wish to is cancel Heat Rises.
-
1 ReplySay that to true vanguard lol
-
I'm still pissed it locks your slide up and most times you cant melee or aim and shoot after its animation.

Edited by boi: 9/4/2021 6:08:30 AMEven after TTDs tuning, I think it’s still pretty good. As a warlock main, I never relied on the dodges since I didn’t plan to disengage from a gunfight completely Was it a needed nerf? Probably not. The subclass tree was designed for aerial mobility, thats what makes it so well off in PvP.
-
Another thing with heat rises I’m curious can you even cancel being in the air?? I know getting kills while airborne extends the duration by a lot.
-
I’m gonna be completely honest with you here. Top tree always had 1 icarus dash before it got buffed to 2. It’s still good even after the nerf you can still pop 2 dashes just gotta consume your grenade for extra speed again. It’s really not that bad I would consider testing it out because you can still get across the map in seconds I’m not saying a couple seconds I’m saying seconds. I just think you have to explore the strengths of the power before seeing how bad it is. Phoenix dive however lmao that’s like a pve ability now it’s so bad in pvp.
-
No one will use heat rises, that's true, but as a warlock main we didn't really need 2 dashes, 1 is fine
-
No. It is definitely a big improvement. Now you can peek and dive back into cover while also healing.
-
The dash nerf was a good nerf. Why? Because even though it was nerfed, people are still playing top tree.
-
8 RepliesUse it like a hunter shatterdive. Peek, shoot, then dive back to safety. If hunters can do it, warlocks can. And you get regen on top of it so hey thats gud. The subclass isnt bad either. The super is braindead easy to use and can one shot supers unlike top tree. The burn effects are really strong too and there is some REALLY nasty builds around it. Its not because it isnt as dumb as top tree dawn that its not offering a good gameplay.
-
1 ReplyI like it. The only change it needs is the ability to slide after using it
-
2 RepliesIs it any good in PvE though?
-
1 ReplyPhoenix dive is amazing because of the healing. Anyone who says otherwise isn't using it correctly
-
8 RepliesIf you use heat rises you can icarus dash 6x
-
1 ReplyThay did buff a solar, void and arc subclass for warlocks so i guess thats something right. Golden gun has been the same ever since who knows when. Not being able to one shot body shot a super with bottom tree golden gun really is annoying because in d1 golden gun had no precision bullshit. But im not tryna complain, at the end of the day class dosent matter if you dont know how to aim, thats how i see it atleast. Trials is a different story though...
-
1 ReplyI agree I find no use to ever use the dive, the only time I ever use it is to exploit the healing effect whenever I’m getting chased by someone or when in super to extend my super after taking enough damage. Apart from that, the ability itself is useless. Why bother diving on the ground when we cant even shoot in the air to begin with? The dive would literally work far better on top tree dawn with heat rises. Bottom tree could use the dash because you need to close the gap in order to land your melees or play aggressively unlike top tree with its ranged melee. Its just so weird how much better both trees could be if those abilities were switched.
-
Edited by whiskeychaser: 9/3/2021 1:53:41 PMIt works good with wings in pve, the real problem with bottom tree is the lack of a ranged melee. It's too much fun shooting fire from my hands, that I could care less about extending my super or phoenix dive.
-
FYI... Not all abilities cater to PvP.

Bring back self Rez
-
1 ReplyJust wait until Solar 3.0 comes out
-
No you

2 RepliesNaw bottoms tree dodge is very good with wings of sacred dawn. A subclass worth using
