It may subtly imply an important story beat
Now, for those of you well versed in the machinations of the sword logic and the ascendant realm, you probably know how throne world's work by now
Personal pockets within the ascendant realm that act as a respawn zone if you die in any other realm. Your own personal dominion crafted from wibbly wobbly spacy wacy stuff you get from killing folks
Makes sense
Now here's the kicker: when the host of a throne world dies, their throne crumbles and collapses in on itself. We see this in Forsaken with Hiraks the Mindbender after he dies, and a lore card describing what happened to Oryx's throne after he died too
Now, with that in mind: this might imply that savathune actually survives this DLC. Considering that her throne will be a reoccurring location moving on
What do you think?

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't kill her next expansion. I don't know why, but something tells me Savathun is going to be very important throughout the future after witch queen.

12 RepliesEdited by DragonKnight901: 9/2/2021 12:29:28 PMHmm i got a question myself we had to steal a piece of crota’s essence to enter Oryx’s throne world (become ascendent i believe it was), but that just brings something important how are we supposed to gain access to Savathun’s throne world its not like we have a hive portal in the tower do we? I assume the same trick won’t work twice like back on the dreadnaught, So where are we going to find the entrance then.

1 ReplyInteresting. I personally do not believe that we will be facing savathun per say, and with the next next DLC being the final shape I do believe that a third aspect in the Light and Dark war will make it’s appearance. I am lightly going to dub this the Grey and it’s probably similar to the 9 in terms of celestial power. Needless to say Savathun is not our enemy in the DLC, we will probably be facing a Guardian v. Guardian duke out like the crucible and be choosing sides but she is not our ultimate enemy. Just a thought.

1 ReplyHopefully, despite this having no backing, we get to take over it after she’s gone but I’d like it if she stayed alive!
-
1 ReplyOr, it becomes our throne. Doubtful, since there are no new subclasses, but still a possibility. Maybe it sets up for us getting a taken subclass in a later DLC?
-
We put her in a gun
-
I see where your coming from. I do wonder is it just her forces that get the light or do she herself also acquire the light? Because if she survives then her Throne World persists. Or she could still die and be revived by her ghost if that is indeed what she is planning. And also she could just remake a throne world she wouldn’t need a worm to do so since we have the Mindbender as proof of that.
-
that could be possible, but I’m sure they’re writing will take the direction of killing her and just leaving the world up bc newer content. For the same reason that the draudnaught was still a playable destination well after we killed him

I went over all of them. It could answer this immediately. Not to mention that the whole thing you're proposing here doesn't even make any sense at all. If throne worlds go kaput after their rulers die inside them, then how come we could waltz right back into Scrota's back in D1 after we offed him? I dunno... Kinda sounds like a mighty big inconsistency there that has not at all been addressed yet. OH WELL! Hahahahahah!

3 RepliesThe throne world is more than just a universe but the mind of a paracausal being of great power. It is one with the user, so as the person dies their mind fades. Just like oryx. What gives me pause is how would savathun keep the throne without the power of the logic. The worm is also what helps in its creation, which is very interesting. Maybe she is able to use the paracausal energy of the dreaming city some how. The ascendant plane is under reality, the back room of existence. Thrones are of great power.
-
If she has her own ghost, then she wouldn't need a throne world. Also unless we kill her ghost then she will just return, like the scorn.
-
1 ReplyIs there any chance freeing Savathun from her Worm could allow her Throne World to stick around even after she dies?
-
2 RepliesNot true about the throne world collapsing. We killed Space Zombie Jesus and a year later we snuck back into his throne world to find his sisters holding a funeral.
-
4 RepliesWell if I’m not mistaken I’m pretty sure there was a leak somewhere that Savathun isn’t going to be the raid boss for TWQ, so yeah I actually wouldn’t be too surprised if we teamed up against Xivu Arath and the darkness or smth maybe it’s just me but idk i think that would be sick
-
1 ReplyAll we know is that it’s stolen so she could still have the worm pact active but not affecting her.

6 RepliesEdited by Phantom: 8/31/2021 12:16:16 AMI would prefer her just not dying, it would be nice to have a recurring villian instead of just killing this one and moving on to the next. Like batman and the joker, or optimus and megatron, Getting in eachothers heads, having a constant tug of war with eachother seeing which one will die first.
-
Bungie did say they were trying something new where characters will persist over multiple releases, so there's that too.
-
I’m more interested in the story of the raid now. What in the hell is imprisoned in that damaged Pyramid Ship? Did Savathûn imprison it, or was it the Black Fleet?
-
I’ve seen the leaks so if you wanna know for sure what happens click below
she dosent die as far as I know, and the raid boss is not her or any other Hive, it’s something to do with the pyramid in her throne world that apparently comes online after you finish the campaign
It would be cool if we somehow became allies

1 ReplyAt some point, but definitely not the forest area that was shown off in the trailer
-
My guess is she subverts the entire point of sword logic and throne worlds with her worm being removed and her becoming a light bearer. Thus as a result, her world sorta takes over the murder battery position that the dreaming city has? Just taking a crack as to how it can be explained without it being a “it’s a core area so it can’t be removed” game designer logic. Unless they plan for it be there only for the campaign, and then we no longer gain access to it.
-
Wouldn’t it be the most epic troll to keep a location up for the duration of worlds first and then close it off? 🧐

Honestly, she's such a good character that i hope she survives.
