Is there something I am missing?[/quote] Similar to a reply on this thread, I found info a while back about how this happens if a player does not apply cross save to their account. For example, if you have characters on Xbox and different ones on PC, and your Xbox is on the same Bungie ID as the PC, your join code will not work. You must select a console’s set of characters to make your primary ones and have them cross save over all platforms, otherwise your join code will not work. There is no other solution as of this edit (4/17/2022).

I had the same issue and just got it fixed with some help from Reddit. if you have any other platforms linked to your Bungie account that are NOT in your cross-save, de-link them. this is what causes the issue. (I had my x Xbox 360 account linked for d1 dim but obviously, that can't cross-save to d2). note: I still have my twitch account linked... this is only in regards to other crosssaveable platforms!

Same for me. I'm pretty sure I started my bungie account on xbox and made steam my man platform on D2. This might be the reason, idk though.
