Champion Mods are once again, TERRIBLE.

F in the chat for all those Hand Cannon/Scout Rifle mains out there who don't get to actually use their main weapons inn high end content for the next 6 months. This -blam!- needs to stop, just make it: Primary - Antishield Special - Overload Heavy - Unstoppable Stop limiting the way we WANT TO PLAY.

  • They just need to add scouts to anti - barrier auto rifles are terrible and being forced to use bows is unacceptable it’s ok now for normal nightfalls and normal vog but you can’t rush a overload with a sword in these GMs that are coming out

    • While I agree there should be a road for all weapon types, haven’t we had hand cannon and scouts in the last year already? Personally I’m glad to see autos back in rotation and to have fusion rifles join in. Those are my weapons of choice. Learn to take turns.

      • They need to make it one primary mod for each champion that costs 1, then another mod for each champion that costs 5-7, sniper, fusion, GL etc. I wouldn’t mind 2 primary for each champion.

      • totally fine only barrier are meh , overload have the best option in the game, same for unstoppable vex or fusions in general are very good

      • I agree completely! Bungie hasn't learned a damn thing about the way the majority wants to play. On top of the crappy choice for champions now we are being frozen and slowed by the npc. This is no different than pvp when beyond light came out. We have been reduced to wet noodle guardians and Bungie just wants us to be completely impotent. Best thing to do is opt out. I can't even bring myself to complete pinnacle requirements. Grinding the same BS content over and over again. Hell the lore doesnt even make sense. Savathun is declaring she is helping us and then in Witch Queen she is the bad guy doesn't make sense. Again Luke Smith is so out of touch with what we want.

        • And again that gawdawfull champion fallen captains teleporting like crazy. I can't even get a single hit on them without them instantly teleporting like endermens from minecraft.

        • I do agree, I don't want to use a bow and a pulse, I usually run a auto rifle in my build so I'm okay with that part but I hate running bows all the time, boring weapon. And pulse rifles are slow to me.

        • Seems like the only way that this problem could be circumvented is by equipping an exotic that deals with specific champions i.e Divinity (Overload), Eriana's Vow (Barrier), Bastion (Unstoppable), and running sword with Disrupting Blade so that way you can save up a slot for any other weapon of your choice to deal with normal enemies.

        • Helmet mod - barrier Arms mod - unstoppable Chest mod - overload Works with all gun types easy enough plus just a copy and paste from season to season . Less work that’s what Bungie is all about now right ?

          • Personally, I think champions would be fine if they took regular damage and didn’t heal. It would make encounters challenging but not impossible without the associated mod. Using champion mods should be an added bonus instead of a necessity.

              • Hey, every season they're -blam!-, because every season they limit them to just a few weapon types. As a bow and sword user, I am incredibly happy this season with getting to use disruption mods again finally. But they need to do away with this champion mod BS on artifacts and make it so any weapon can use them.

                • I think it's a majority of the players that are terrible. Just went into the 1290 Nightfall. For the millionth time, I pair with players who outright ignore Champions and their teammates because of some idiotic reason that I cannot even begin to fathom. One guy dies, goes idle, gets kicked and the other is a speed-runner, apparently. Bailed. I'm not playing with the worst of this game and, gods, there's a lot of you. But, yes, the mods always suck. Just that the players in this game suck WAY worse when they don't play the objective of any mode and screw it up for the few who do.

                    Gotta say, I've been solo flawlessing all the new master lost sectors at 25 light under simply thanks to how powerful Overload bow is. People seriously don't realize that Le Monarque is the most powerful overload weapon in the game. The poison constantly applies overload so the champion can't teleport, can't heal, it can't even move. It just stands still and shoots back as you beat it to death with Monarque. I'm always happy to see overload bow because it means I'm going to be able to solo content I normally couldn't with other mods. Also, if you're having trouble with barriers, try using some High Impact autos; I use a False Promises with AP Rounds and it shreds barrier shields.

                      • Excellent post, could not agree more. I like the idea of theming the artifact each season but the basic requirements you describe should be outside the seasonal tuning. By all means provide an extra incentive/benefit to use a particular weapon but leave that to the later columns.
