People who only play Destiny for the crucible are forced into PvE for literally every single weapon/armor piece in the game aside from 2 armor sets and 1 weapon a season.
Grow up. It's 50 kills, which becomes like 22 when you get the catalyst multipliers.

100% agree.. this is a game, nobody has to play any part of the content they don't want to however, to gain certain items.. you will have to play certain parts. Pretty simple really.

Not to mention the gun randomly highlights targets through walls for you, is a 1 shot kill anywhere to the body in momentum control and over penetrates meaning you can 1 shot collat people. Probably the easiest weapon to get the catalyst kills with so far and people still complaining like if they don't complete the catalyst Bungie will remove your license to play.
