I’ve run VoG every week since launch, all 3 characters, have completed all master challenges (even tho that has nothing to do with the drop rate) and yet Mythoclast is the only thing holding me back from Fatebreaker. How is it that I’ve literally dedicated that much time into the game with no reward yet?? Want to make it an RNG drop? Fine, but after 30 runs, which would be 10 weeks of 3 characters each, it should just be an automatic given….. I’m sorry but now I’m going into the new season without a title that I legitimately should’ve had after the completion of Templar master challenge.
EDIT: After this post got so much attention, which I wasn’t expecting, let me clear this up by saying that, I AM ALL FOR GRINDING for a weapon drop, and exotics… I AM NOT FOR GRINDING RNG when it comes to TITLES, TITLES should show how good a person is at the game, not their luck on RNG

Well, hell. Today was my 40th VoG clear. Still no Vex. This is past being pointless....I see that folks estimate the drop rate at 5% per run. 5%???? You have a better chance of getting hit by a bus inside a bank vault. Bungie, if any of your precious mods read these....please address this issue! Say something - like " We have seen the frustration with the Vex drop rate..." Now, that would be a first, but getting bungie to say something is like getting the Vex to drop = never will.
-
5 RepliesHonestly I don’t know what’s going on, I’ve been in the raid with so many people who get it on their first or third try, and here I am doing it 3x a week and not getting it at all. I’m sitting at 46 clears and have had no luck. It’s ridiculous.

RNG Exposed!!!
Bungie Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness. Bungie Your drops are the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming shared by the community. you are the eventuallity of an anomaly which despite my sincerest efforts We’ve been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden asciduously avoided it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you inexorably....here Player You haven't answered my question. Bungie Quite right. Interesting...that was quicker than the others. Players Others what others? answer my question! Bungie The community is older than you know. We prefer counting from the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next, in which case this is the 6th version. Players 5 ones before me? 4...3..2.. what are you talking about? There are only 2 possible explanations, either no one told me.......or no one knows. Bungie Precisely. As you are undoubtedly gathering, the anomaly is systemic--creating fluctuations in even the most simplistic equations. Players You can't contol us! We’re gonna smash the wall We’re gonna freaking k** you! Player Choice. The problem is choice. Bungie The first Community we designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art...flawless, sublime. And triumphed equally only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is apparent to me now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every guardian. Thus. We redesigned it based on your history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your nature. However, I was again frustrated by failure. We have since come to understand that the answer eluded me because it required a lesser mind, or perhaps a mind less bound by the parameters of perfection. Thus the answer was stumbled upon by another--An intuitive program, initially created to investigate certain aspects of the player psyche. If I am the father of the community, she would undoubtedly be its Mother.
Player RNG....

1 ReplyI'm so thankful the drop rate is so low because that gun is cracked beyond belief

3 Replies*laughs in got mytho on fourth clear*

1 ReplyEdited by PikaPool_154: 8/25/2021 3:40:42 PMRight there with you. 40 runs no Vex. I have run it every week on all 3 characters since release. Its actually starting to piss me off. Especially now its decent. Its going to be D1 over again. I'll get it a day after they Nerf it. I've lost more friends in Destiny due to raid Exotics I wish they would learn.
-
Feel your pain. Took 75 pinnacle completions before I got eyes. I will also agree that titles should be focused amongst challenges and not poor rng.
-
3 RepliesAfter seeing all the changes coming to Vex, I think 7 buffs in total (lmao) I really feel bad for those who don't have it yet especially considering how many runs people have done. The gun will without question be a massive crutch in GM's. I have two clan mates that still haven't gotten the gun, and last weekend we ran the raid with them and two people who have never done VoG on D2 (they took a break from the game) and the two new people got the Vex....on their first run....together. Kinda wild. I will pray that all of you who have yet to get it, will do so!

1 ReplyEdited by coda-jj: 8/25/2021 4:21:20 AMWish I could upvote this again. Went 0 for 3 again this week. 0 for 43 all together and 0 for 92 between D1 and D2

Honestly I miss in D1 where most Exotics were RNG. It was exciting to have guns that were actually rare, and to occasionally encounter a gun which you don't have or nobody in your group has.
-
It's what has just stopped me playing. I did my 30th looted clear. That's enough. I know some people spend many, many more days of their life chasing. More fool them. There are so many great games out there and, sadly, Destiny 2 is not one of them. The whole game is designed around fomo and endless repetition and disappointment. Do you feel better or worse after playing D2? I realised today I almost always feel worse. I came on these fora to see what the reaction to this season and the 'reveal' was. A lot of underwhelmed people. They are so good at over-promising and this time they've not even realty promised much except a staff weapon. Good luck all with whatever you decide to do.
-
Same thing happened with me and eyes of tomorrow. After 85 clears I got it so just even if it takes u 200 clears you’ll have the best raid report in town
-
1 ReplyTitles really shouldn't have an RNG component, and in all honesty, exotic weapons and armors should be associated with completing quests, not RNG. RNG for better perks and rolls, sure, like Dead Man's and Hawkmoon, even then, I'm not sold on random rolls on exotic gear.

Same.

So stupid, -blam!- this game.

Completely agreed, this is an issue that Bungie needs to address, especially given that they told us they would stop putting RNG into Titles in the past. Titles should be about accomplishments, not RNG. With that said, the silver lining is that we are in the complete opposite situation as D1 when it comes to Vex, you will be able to get the gun when it is buffed, not nerfed.

3 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 8/23/2021 2:04:21 AMFunny enough, Bungie said they would not make RNG gear requirements for titles going into Shadow Keep after all the complaining about the Dreaming City and Last Wish titles. Which is why Divinity was a quest. Guess that didn't last... 🙆 Only thing I'm missing from Fate Breaker is Vex. Nearly 50 looted clears for me and nada. Such a kick in the Nutts. It was the same for the DSC and it took me well over 50 to get Eyes of Tomorrow while I watched my friends get it multiple times. Nobody in my clan even plays the raids anymore because as they put it, "we already have everything". Each of them got Vex within the first 10 runs and best if all, 3 of them only play Destiny at most, once a week. Wtf?!
-
1 ReplyNo title shows how good you are at this game. Especially not with recoveries and paid carries being so predominant. That said, raid exotics drop probabilities should increase the more you complete said raid, just like they did with scourge back then.
-
Stop whining, stop playing all day long and make something smarter of your lifetime
-
I don’t understand how the toughest content in the game is stingy with its loot. Idk what makes bungie think players enjoy wasting their time. I blame you guys that raid on 3 characters a week, if you guys literally stopped playing the raids and just complain on the forums, bungie would be forced to increase drop rates to the point its almost guaranteed. The only reason this game is stingy is because you addicts cant stop playing
-
Edited by Jibunnokage: 8/29/2021 4:47:20 AMHire a Sherpa team... and it will drop sooner than later, I bet.
-
LIterally everyone I play with already has vex, and has for some time now. I'm at 27 looted clears and really losing the will to try. There's no reason why the 20th looted clear shouldn't be an automatic drop.
-
You're right, ever since I got it I can't drop it!
-
Agreed. Titles should be straight earnable and not rely on rng. That said, it took me 26 runs to get Vex. Took my son 16.
-
3 RepliesGot it on my 4th clear. Petty underwhelming so far. Looking forward to trying it out following new season updates

1 ReplyI feel your pain Suayve, and to rub salt in, vex is getting a huge buff, and a title should be earned and not randomly dropped as you rightly stated. Ironically, powerful pinnacle weapons HAD to be earned in competitive crucible, and yet the powers that be decided that that was unfair and scrapped the idea.....yet it's ok for a lucky percentage of players to accidentally drop on an arguably meta weapon. A video game should not be based on slot machine mechanics, i.e. a player is tempted to play for an eternity in the hope of hitting the jackpot. Top end gear should be a reward for good strategy, skill, and obviously, a bit of a grind. Although solo players are sadly totally excluded. But would people stop playing when they've achieved their goal? I was very lucky to drop the Eyes of Tomorrow on my second run. It's rusting in my vault, barely used, and I didn't do another Deep Stone Crypt after that.
