Obviously kidding. But I can’t help but see all these new technologies and think of the Golden Age in Destiny lore.

Clovis is just Generic Evil Business Man. You could compare him to pretty much any high profile wannabe Bond Villain. Bungies character writing has never really been super deep or original, they're all pretty bland archetypes seen in most settings with only a surface level of development.
