With primary weapons getting unlimited ammo, and bows having a small supply of it... I wanted to see what bow would really benefit as a PvE king...
So we're gonna do two Arrows for each, because by default Ticcu needs two arrows to do damage... and those baby arrows it fires does do damage...
This is via just single target damage. Obviously a few of these bows do better against mobs, but lets compare them anyways. And yes some bows are slightly slower, but we'll talk about that.
(Also, we are NOT including the ability to make Warmind Cells, those are getting nerfed, and while an artifact allows Monarque to do it, we aren't counting it. Just the bows themselves)
Wish-Ender: 22,730 Crit (not including Vs Taken... there isn't many in the game as is. Maybe in Witch Queen.)
Trinity Ghoul: 12,594 Crit (not including if you have one arrow with Lightning Rod up, doesn't change much anyways.)
Le Monarque: 20,204 Crit (including poison damage)
Ticcu's Divination: Primer - 1,827 / Arrow - 8,099 on Crit / Blast Damage on Primed target 11,839 ... Total Damage 21,765
Ticcu's Divination + Catalyst: Primer - 1,827 / Arrow x6 Buff - 16,292 on Crit / Blast Damage on Primed target 11,839 ... Total Damage 29,958
So if you have the Catalyst... Ticcu flat out demolishes the competition. And even without the catalyst, it slightly edges out on Monarque, but just barely.
And obviously Trinity isn't a single target damage weapon, it's meant to deal with ads on the field, and it does an amazing job of doing so... there's an issue I noticed while playing with all the bows...
• While Trinity Ghoul can wipe out whole rooms easily, so can Monarque and Ticcu. And while Monarque isn't as potent as Ticcu, it's also a bit more user friendly, and the AOE poison can stun enemies caught in it.
Though Ticcu... out right obliterates everything in front of it as a primary weapon. Ticcu does the job of Trinity Ghoul in ad control with a bit more effort... and the job of Monarque with single target.
• Wish-Ender during it's hay-day when bugged... put out more damage than Ticcu with the catalyst... by a lot. If Wish-Ender ever gets a buff... watch out for it. Though I didn't add in Taken damage, there isn't many in the game anymore. But maybe in Witch Queen... but if it doesn't get a buff or catalyst to help it... you might just wanna use Malfeasance... despite having higher damage than all the other bows (minus the Ticcu Catalyst) it's still too slow to use.
• Monarque is a solid bow, it's simple to use, very straight forward and requires little thought unlike Ticcu, which is why it's still an appealing option despite Ticcu demolishing it... if Monarque ever gets a catalyst that affects how much damage it does in some capacity... it can be a real option in PvE, even if it say... increases how many ticks of poison it does, or the size of the burst of poison...
As far as PvE goes, if you have Ticcu and it's catalyst unlocked, there's your answer. If you don't, but you have Monarque- it's a solid second place option. And some might say "But Trinity Ghoul is better!" Trinity Ghoul is an ad clearing machine... but that's all it is. Both Monarque and Ticcu do it's job and can deal single target damage... unless you're job is JUST to clear out ads in the room... and you want to swap to a sniper, Ticcu and Monarque can fill both rolls better. And if Monarque ever gets a catalyst, keep an eye on it- it could grasp that spot back from Ticcu given the right one...
And maybe lets pray that Wish-Ender see's some sort of love... maybe a catalyst that reduces draw time, that would be nice. Or something that bumps that damage up to 'near' the glitched status.
But... silly question at this point, which bow do you think is the best knowing all of what I just said...
EDIT: Yes I realize that I included a x6 buff on Ticcu for the catalyst damage boost... that is my mistake. But still even with a x2 buff that arrow is doing 11,062, which still puts it higher than the other bows in total damage output, but the point still stands across it all.
EDIT: So people are saying "Trinity Ghoul has better AOE clear!" This post wasn't about the AOE clear primarily... it was focused on Single Target... I mentioned the AOE off handedly in the end but the primary focus of the post was on single target damage, I mentioned AOE because Ticcu and Monarque can do that as well like Trinity Ghoul- which gave them a slight up on Trinity Ghoul since they can do Single Target as well.
EDIT: So I have learned... people can't read, and a majority of folk seem to forget that GM content and Master VoG that Trinity Ghoul isn't keeping up... ah well. Can't convince everyone, time to ignore the post I guess and move on myself.
All I learned from this was that there is a huge group who never gave Ticcu a chance. But thanks for the actual figures to prove my assumption.

6 RepliesInteresting. I for one would never use Ticcu's in any end game content. It's too slow to proc the bang boom. Trinity is good for add clear and breaking overload shields with the mod, but has no boss damage. Saying that it's the ads that kill you mainly not so much the majors and bosses. Clearing ads is good! Le Monarque would be a good bow to use for GM's and Raids thou. I'm going to guild my Conqueror title and use this first. Wish Ender for me is MEH and has been collecting Dust since I got it. Basically any explosive head Bow is an option for overloads really.

I’ve had people quit strikes on me before when using trinity ghoul because they simply couldn’t get any kills.
-
Le Monarque is the best. It only requires one arrow to do its max damage whereas Ticcu's sack of garbage requires two. Le Monarque is gonna be a beast. One arrow over and over and over again, non-stop, at anything I want to see die... Oh yeah, I'm actually gonna have fun with that bow again.
-
2 RepliesActually, to take that a step further, you say that "Ticcu flat out demolishes the competition" but it actually doesn't. What you're missing is that you have to fire TWO arrows from Ticcu to get 29,958 total damage and that's WITH the catalyst. But two arrows from Le Monarque would be 40,408. So, no, Le Monarque is the one that demolishes the competition.

I’m torn between Monarque and Trinity. Trinity is good for clearing large groups of enemies. But Monarque looks better and does just as good of a job so…. I’m going Monarque
-
2 RepliesLe Monraque has the overall best DPS vs. single target. Trinity Ghoul is the best in class in terms of clearing ads & AoE I can’t speak for wish endeder because the quest for me is bugged and can’t obtain it. Tinccu in my opinion doesn’t have enough damage output to compete with Trinity Ghoul or Le Monraque.
-
2 RepliesNone of the above. Arsenic bite with rampage and explosive gonna do bits this season
-
Trinity Ghoul and Ticuu's Divination are really good for crowd control in PvE, but I'd have to say Le Monarque is the best for PvP.

Edited by ForkedTail: 8/23/2021 10:48:53 PM"This post wasn't about the AOE clear primarily... it was focused on Single Target..." Technically, your title asked for the best exotic bow, presented a poll that sounds like its based on popularity, and then presented your single target data without considering AOE. Yes this reply is completely pedantic.

I missed using ticcus ever since overload bow was removed glad it’s coming back
-
Le Monarque all other answers are wrong
-
Wish ender for the memes. Love the way it feels, hate the damage it does. Trinity for taking out the trash. Go to for normal strikes and such Monarque for overloads. It is the best bow for that. Ticuus for best overall. Damage, add clear, stunning overloads, cell spawning….it’s all too good. Definitely the winner.

2 RepliesWhy isn’t The Vow on here 🤔
-
Edited by TacticalDucky69: 8/23/2021 12:54:58 PMTiccu’s for grandmasters, trinity ghoul for lower level pve, wish ender and le monarch for pvp

2 RepliesLeviathan’s breath: am i a joke to you?
-
1 ReplyLe monarque hands down. The crit hits apply great DoT and can kill other adds, kills can grant the DoT being applied on the next shot and for champions? Yeah, overload bow Le monarque melts overloads and the DoT keeps them stunned.
-
On the single boss damage with the appropriate burn, Monarque’s ticks are tops. Super reliable on all champions because of the tick damage, too.
-
For best pve bow for add clear I'd say trinity, best for higher end content with the ability to add clear and deal decent damage against majors I'd say ticcus, best for pvp lou monarch.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Apollo_XIX: 8/22/2021 11:24:58 PMTicuu's is better single target always, but is also better AoE in higher end content where Ghoul can't get the reliable reproc of Lightning Rod Lemon is seriously over-rated in PvE, but is fine in PvP Wish Ender needs a buff Top Legendary picks are Biting Winds for Kinetic, Point of the Stag for Energy Personal Best Bow for me overall is definitely Ticuu's Divination
-
3 RepliesTrinity Ghoul and Monarque lead the way. You can’t really go wrong. Although is your looking for just PvE no other factors involved I’d go Trinity. But PvP and Overall, Monarque would win for me.
-
Ticcu's has the most utility, best dps, add kill mahine. Basically if Gally was a bow lol. Even stuns champs just as easily as LeMonarque if you do it right. Aleays hated bows and it's a joy to use Ticcu's.
-
2 RepliesDepends on the mode, nothing beats trinity ghoul in pve. The most consistent and most lethal bow in pvp is le monarque. Any other exotic bow in destiny is a meme or straight up garbage.
-
Pvp - Le monarque Everything else - Ticuu's
-
Endgame Pve. Ticcus or Monarque For fun low tier content PvE Trinity

1 ReplyI love Wish-Ender, and I wish they'd give it anti-barrier built in and also the ability to chip away at elemental shields when Match game is in effect. Arbalest is getting that in S15, but it'd be cool to have the same abilities on a primary that hits as hard as the Wish-Ender.
