I’m all for difficulty. But why is it that sometimes it feels like I am 100 levels over the enemies while other times I die as if I’m in a GM Nightfall?

Bungie most likely manipulates the outcome because they said there was a catch up mechanic and other peoples connections probably don’t help either.
-
8 RepliesAt the risk of sounding remedial,… you do realize that the mobs get progressively more difficult wave-over-wave the longer the match runs?
-
Gambit sucks stop playing it. The whole mode revolves solely around invaders. Anyone can clear adds and bank motes but invading or killing invaders makes or breaks the win.

Why is gambit?

1 ReplyGet the right load out and pray it’s not f******g Scorn. If you do that and it’s not Scorn then it’s carnage.
-
3 RepliesGambit has catch-up mechanics that adjust the rank of enemies (Minor vs Major) during the mote collection phase.
-
1 ReplyPredetermined winners. Next time pay attention you'll either have all red bars or all orange/yellow bars.
-
6 RepliesGambit has so many variables, some explainable, some not so much. Either way, grab bounties, get in, get out as fast as possible and go back to enjoyable content. And I’ll add, I’ve always loved the concept of gambit, however, I do not enjoy it whatsoever… but it is what it is.

Whilst many ppl believe crucible is "rigged" to average a 50% win rate (it isn't btw), there are definitely catch up mechanics in gambit matches. Although having said that I have seen it where the other team are definitely stronger and yet our team gets the invincible ads. 🤷♂️
-
Because 50/50 win ratios are important 😂
-
50/50 win ratio, predetermined outcome and hidden damage buffs/modifiers

Convinced its something wonky in the level enabled being off for pve but on for pvp. Some matches on the first wave i will get absolutely shredded. We know there are catchup mechanics as the match proceeds but i also find that match win streaks carry over into new matches as i've been on wave one and already have multiple yellow bar glowing enemies out of the gate.
-
Because it's, well, Gambit. If it was consistent, and they made the game mode more fun and less dumb, it might actually be worth playing. But as it is? Who the heck cares? It's a bounty simulator to me.

Edited by mja calg: 8/18/2021 3:34:09 AMBecause Bungle is too incompetent and cheap to have Regional Dedicated Host Servers. Other than the Towers, everything runs off their Halo era 2008ish Peer to Peer Network model. That's why the game is so inconsistent. Developing Regional Dedicated Hosting Servers, like making content, is "Hard", for Bungle.

damn right! the other day I ran out of ammo 2 games then 3rd dropped a lot? Same finders. Some algorithm? Dropped all of a sudden at final boss one game. Stuff to learn still.
-
Lol , gambit never changed I see. Back when forsaken launched this was a problem and two years later it’s still. They use to have forced losses and all types of catch up mechanics
-
Truth! It doesnt load correctly. I will say it happens less than it used to.
-
There was a stage where the enemy was so laggy, they were shooting you before they physically appeared on your screen.. Good times, good times.....
-
Lag. Add the inconsistent ammo drops where you don't get much special or heavy when running the right mods in some matches, and you've got a frustrating recipe.

1 ReplyOne match you're demolishing mobs, the next they focus fire you at the bank and you lose 15 motes. RNGesus giveth, and he sure enough yoinks that sh*t back.
-
Because it’s so imbalanced
-
Did this to me yesterday.. I literally felt like a tool dropping like I had no armor whatsoever and screwing my team over. It is infuriating when it does this.
-
Depends on the enemy wave.

1 ReplyEdited by KayOsS882: 8/17/2021 5:46:14 PMSome players go I with different objectives. Like fulfilling a catalyst, a bounty, quest, etc… That can impact how effective you are in gambit. I once went in and just hunt down guardians and ignored killing ads and grabbing motes.
